Great to hear! Every company has issues at some point. I respect Microtech for constantly innovating and generally speaking, they’ve had good quality in the past. Does it frustrate me to pay a lot for a defective knife? Absolutely. However, compared to companies like BM I think they’re superior but they’re going down the same route. I hope they turn it around because I genuinely like MT. Thanks for watching!
If it’s not, immediately send it to Microtech or return it. I’d suggest returning it because it’ll be 8 weeks and you’ll pass your deadline to return it if you send it to MT and there’s no guarantee they’ll fix it. I thought I’d see if the screws were loose and I stripped the handle using a micro screwdriver. The 6061 aluminum is much softer than you’d think. MT said it had bad tolerances and offered to swap it out…and then charged me $200 to fix it because it was stripped.
The QA dept has been slipping for years now at microtech … I have one going back for consistent failures vs my others that have never failed … seems to be too hit and miss now with them … had brand new one for a week and every single screw and even the glass breaker came loose … zero loctite .. just sucks
I feel your frustration, seriously. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience as well. Loctite is super cheap and really effective. I had a similar experience with my last Benchmade. The same guy checked my last two MT knives and they should’ve been sent back which I find frustrating. I will say that working with MT’s customer service is far better than working with BM’s though. Edit: no, MT’s customer service is actually worse. Took two months to respond to an email.
Yes, it’s a HiFinder! I have a video on counterfeits as well if you’d like to learn more. I have some videos going over internal and external differences. Over the 6 months I’ve had it, the hellhound fake has actually held up well.
@@GigiEDC thank you my friend. The clones have gotten so good that even the boxes look legit.. I bought a Microtech and wanted to see how close the high end clones were so I bought one. If I didn’t have the real thing it would have been really hard to tell the clone wasn’t real. I normally buy from Blade HQ but Eknives is the only place that has the color I want. It’s sad Microtech won’t respond to an email regarding their own knives.. Thank you again sir 👍🏽
From what I’ve seen and heard, Microtech fixed some of the issues in their later batches. If possible, I’d avoid buying any Gen IIIs made in 12/23. They seemed to have a lot of problems. Take care brother.
@@GigiEDC i don’t even know when it was made lol I will find out in a couple days I had a ultratech and it was pretty phenomenon all I did was open and close it never cut anything with it
