Dr. F, First time viewer and now subscriber. I just happened to be looking at this auto for the first time and wondering about the quality of Microtech and your in depth video was just what I needed to sort out if I want to chance it on DH Gate and the answer is now YES, thanks so much and nice to have made your acquaintance. Happy Trails
I'd been wanting a Microtech since Jack Bauer said "what's a banker doing with a Microtech Halo?" After John Wick came out I got the Ultratech, no shame in my game lol Great review video, you keep it real 👍👍
Me the same. Saw it first in 24. When looking into it, always wanted a Navy Scarab. Never bought one... until today. When I actually picked up the Ultratech, in the exact same color scheme & dagger interface, as the knife in the video above.
We can carry any style of a blade in India ... you can design a blade that shoots out of your dick when you get a boner and it will not be illegal here. *It is illegal in India* to carry a knife (blade) beyond 9 inches long and 2 inches wide, as it comes under the ambit of the definition of “prohibited arms” under The Indian Arms Act 1959. Carrying the kind of knife which is below 9 inches in length and 2 inches in width is thus allowed. So size does matter after all who knew!? So although we can carry this OTF style blade I have zero ideas as to why you would want to. What purpose or functionality does it display? I only see a gimmick with a weak/short blade that will have a short novelty value of the sound you hear *sccccccccccccccchick* when it is deployed. It is not a survival knife/bushcraft/combat/dive/SRK ... what does it do effectively other than do the *sccccccccccccccchick* sound reasonably well? I am confused!
@@matthewhoward4549 it is the ultimate combat/survival knife, the quality is impeccable. I've cut two people out of cars after full airbag deployment in the past six months with this handy tool, took about 8-10 seconds. Looks like a keychain with keys in hand, great for women while walking to the car. And size does matter if a knife is your primary, but for me it is not. I want my knife compact, sharp (hold a blade) and resilient - Microtech delivers 👍👍
Love John Wick. Is just great, and is no surprise when you say that you got this knife moved by John wick acting with one of this beauties. This knife is just perfect. Thanks for your very nice video.
I believe he uses a cypher in the third movie. I have to admit, the cypher handle looks pretty awesome. I’m looking at possibly getting a mk. 7 cypher or a Marfione custom I found.
Great vid by the way!I have an exactly the same knife but older model from 06/2011 and it has totaly No blade play, now i was planning to buy one in red D/E with half Serrated but now i am in doubt because the bladeplay it has,now my other one’s do have some but not my D/E like the Tanto Tactical but totaly no play on my Wharncliff ,Single Edge and further the Halo III and VI! Is this with al the new models like that? The tip is the same if you drag your finger over the opening you actualy cut your finger. I know a OTF has normaly some play but it’s a great feeling that the D/E has no play at all,it make’s it just a little more special.. anny opinion is appriciated.
This is like the 10th time I have watch this trying to build hype to make the move on it because it's not cheap and I know where that Exact knife is lol
In the movie they show it for a split second...in the theater, I whispered very loud that the knife was a microtech!!! My wife told me to "shhhhh" and probably thought yeah, I know microtechs....those expensive knives that you have a few of!
My Combat Troodon is quite hard to retract. Like so hard that I need to use both thumbs to close it. Do they break in, and make it a little easier to close? I'm I just too old to be carrying the same knife as Johns Wick?
I had to get three stitches, it went through a leather glove first. Definitely be careful. To be fair, I didn't strike the glove head on. Because it hit it at an angle it was able to cut more. But man did I bleed everywhere
It's funny that you and a lot of other people I've heard say that Microtech's come scary sharp, but my Combat Troodon, Dirac, and Halo V did not, and all were bought from authorized dealers. Maybe it's my take on what sharp is, but if you can't shave hair with light pressure, it's not sharp. Thankfully I have a Wicked Edge knife sharpening system that I put the Combat Troodon on, and got it to be hair popping sharp. My Spyderco Para 3 came shaving sharp, so I find that funny.
I want that knife so bad man. I liked it before John wick came out. I just bought the Spartan Ronin Shinto. Check them out they have great tactical survival knives.
HawkeyeMO72 I’ve had the regular TROODON D/E partially serrated black blade since 2012 and still looks nice and black!!!!!! MUST GET THE BLACK!!!!! MUST!!!!
Even if the lock fail it aint gonna close your fingers, thats what I like, its going to come inside and you can still continue to fight with punchs and kick from there
K B nnnope. It will say DLC on the box if it’s DLC, and also the entire blade would be black. I could be wrong and am open to correction, but out of the 22 Microtechs I own, one of my Stitches is DLC and the coating is visibly different. I have numerous black painted blades, like this one, and they are not DLC and will wear. The full DLC CTs are made in super limited runs.
Cute! You mean you don't just need a _pencil_ on your bedstand? The Ultratech was in the first movie, Troodon in the second. They actually did a "Continental" commemorative set a year or so ago, with cleaner looking non-branded designs. Oh, and it came with gold coins and a _pencil_ of course.
You can buy alot of #2 pencils ✏ for that. I just bought the 143-1T. I believe thats correct model. From SMKW. Will get it Tuesday. They have Sezzle. So u can pay 4 payments so not to bad. I cant carry a doubled edge in MICHIGAN. But I can storm the capital with an AR14 makes alot of damn sense
Do MicroTech knives offer "pounds of resistance" when directing it straight? (Stabbing motion.) I never used switchblade or folding knives before, but I seen people accidentally collapsing their blade when stabbing with it.
It is the safest knife to have laying around kids. My niece can open any of my knives except this because of the heavy trigger. Don’t try with your kids lol
I have one and it is tough. 50% of men and I'm guessing 1% of women can retract the thing. As for actuating, 95% and 20% are my guesses. I make it a point to play with it quite often, now I can open and retract 20 times in a row with my dominant hand and 4 times with my weak hand. There are calluses on my fingers.
I have Ultratech Dead Card bronze edition and mine in 2 ares didn't misfire, but I agree its beutiful but its expensive figet spiner. My edc is Benchmade Osborne and Victorinox Explorer +. And in EU I paid 400€ that knife. For self defense I rather have Parker aluminium pen.
