I never comment on videos, but why in the world would you directly lie about price? I mean you are an authorized dealer correct? So you have access to the correct information but yet you are deliberately misleading people about the price. Be better.

I have 16 Chris Reeve knives and countless GEC’s, Case and Buck knives as well as Lionsteel. I support America and 90% of my knives are made in the USA but I handled one of these and OMG! Buying this doesn’t support China as much as it supports Microtech and frankly this level of quality keeps everyone honest - just bought mine from Microtech for $340!

Just discovered you folks. I like your format (and Bourbon). Marfione is greedy. How he can enrich the Chinese is beyond me. I stay away from Chinese and Russian knives. The ones I had have been sold off. I have a good idea on how much these cost to manufacture. Even at $325, the profit margin is huge. I have subbed to your channel. Good luck.

Microtech is still an American company...right? They just decide to outsource one of their knives to make it more affordable to customers by going consumer direct without middlemen aka dealers! Maybe this also helps them with profit and cash flow so they can invest/hire to produce more of their knives here? It's not too hard for me to get over but some people can't! BTW I just paid $342 for the Socom Bravo tanto....not $450.

I just got mine and I gotta say it’s phenomenal. Extremely well made and smooth as any knife I own and you can just tell it’s built like a tank. Fit and finish is 2nd to none. I have a bunch of WE and Civivi knives Bestech’s. Kizer’s and even Twosuns that are extremely well made so there’s a lot of great stuff coming out of China. I really hate to say it but I have bought some Benchmade and even ZT knives that are not as well made as some of the stuff coming out of China. I don’t like China the government but I have nothing against the hard working Chinese people that are just trying to put in a hard days work and show there craftsmanship off and you can tell they are not trying to cut corners where as I have seen some American companies cut corners. I think for the price this Socom Bravo is worth every red cent. Your not going to find a better made knife for the price these are.

@drivecasual3250

I’d prefer they were manufactured Taiwan but they have a great design, great quality, at an amazingly low $325 price that would easily double had it been made domestically if they could make it at all due to it being hard to find quality skilled labor (even when you pay well). I’m wondering at this moment how much stuff on them including phones, watches, and clothes were made in China. (also they want to try to sell them) It’s like someone saying i’d never take drugs but heck i’ll deal. It’s wrong and against your morals or it’s not but don’t stand on your soap box and turn around and the same thing your judging someone for.
@Northernknives

As their web admin, my watch is made in the UK, my shirt from Turkey, cufflinks and other jewelry are hand downs, boots and pants are also made in the US. It's not always an option, but when a company is on their soap box (Microtech) about being all domestic and then shifts off shore it's interesting to see the results.

@@Northernknives Can we expect northern knives to only support and sell US manufactured knives from here on out since there are so many affordable options domestically?
@Northernknives
@Northernknives 2 года назад
There are actually several domestic knives that are affordable for a quality tool. We are a retail store so we sell what our consumers want to buy. We aren't on a high horse, we have personal opinions that reflect our personal purchases. We won't dictate what our customers buy and if they want a Chinese knife, well then we will carry it. We will however offer a domestic alternative at the same time around or at the same price. We sell far more American made products then anything else in our chain of stores FYI.

The Chinese knife in this video runs circles around most US made production knives. Take Case as an example... Worst quality control out there. You have to go through 50 of them to find 2 or 3 that are actually built right. Supporting American companies is fine, but being American doesn't mean the product is good. Too many companies relying on the "buy american" mantra, but putting out crap products. Being American made doesn't mean what it used to. China is more often than no, doing it better, for less money.

M390 below 61rc with poor microstructure is not value.
@MCFCTheMadHatter
@MCFCTheMadHatter Год назад
@@tacticalcenter8658 That depends. Yes a higher hrc means much better edge retention…but…it also means it’s more brittle. Depending on the intended usage of the knife perhaps it would make more sense to have a higher quality steel with a slightly lower hrc thereby trying to balance the tradeoffs. If you’re a collector and numbers mean more to you than real world application, then yes, it’s poor value. But if you’re using this knife for very hard usage applications, perhaps the combo means a lower probability of chipping or braking your blade thereby yielding more value.
