I quit. No more pretending that I’m a bass player.

It's not delivery; it's DiGiorgio

And he was, what, 25 when he wrote this insanely complex, ultra-fast composition, on a like $200 cobbled together knock off Jazz bass? There's a reason I acknowledge Steve as one of the all-time greatest metal bassists ever. Because he is.

You know, he kinda reminds me of the bassist from Death. And Testament. And Sadus. And Autopsy.

I can still hear Andy LaRoque's guitar lead in my head

I remember when I got that album in the early 90s. Steve's playing and clarity of tone were the greatest thing in the world of bass that I had ever known. I actually got to have pizza with him and the rest of the guys in Testament at the time (except for Lombardo) late after their show in 1999. They came in to the place that my old band was eating, struck a conversation, pulled a table next to us and hung out from about 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Steve sat right next to me. I was 20 at the time and he treated me like I was an equal peer to him, discussing playing, tone and influences.

And now he's confirmed bassist on Megadeth's new album So excited to hear how DiGiorgio wourd integrate his fretless bass into Dave's classic techno thrash sound

I'm convinced that sweatband on his right forearm is concealing all the bionic enhancements.

Steve DiGiorgio should be a household name. The Entwistle of death metal! Death tunes + a B7K? Pure awesomeness.

Rather than copy every riff note for note Steve literally finds every other note that will compliment that riff all while still holding down the low end, truly masterful shit!!

Holy fuck. He’s good in a way that is just uncanny. It’s not just technical ability it’s the whole vibe and feel. There are really no other players with his style. Brilliant

Individual thought Patterns is absolutely the best Death album and one of the best 3 death metal album all time, with Di Giorgio played Gene Hoglan, what a fucking amazing live show it must have been...

Steve and Alex Webster from Cannibal Corpse are my favorite Death Metal bassists of all times. They are UNMATCHED, UNPARALLELED.

DUUUUUUDE, THE hairs on my arms are standing up. Steve's chops are so precise and so tight. One of the top 3 bassist in metal, period.

I'd like to see a video series of him covering all of the Death songs he helped write.

Now I don't know what I want more, a fretless bass or a Darkglass pedal.
