Looked at Samsung website they said I need to replace it, but you helped me to fix it. this is the second time I got the same problem with Samsung, last time we replaced one, so glad I found your video here, than you so much
Sir , You just helped a 75 year old man fix my ge microwave. Your instructions were easy to follow and given clearly. Your safety tips gave me the confidence to give it a try. And it was all right on.. Didn't have to look at any thing else.. My wife of 51 years was very happy. Now she won"t have to go back to her wood stove;; Thank You
@@YngIsrael @Samuel Black you did the math wrong. He said he is 75 years old and he married his wife 51 years ago. Doesn’t mean there is a 24 years age difference. Think again 🫣
Excellent video, thanks for it, and double thanks for avoid wasting time narrating the history of the oven, and go straight to the point, I appreciate it a lot.
I did this last summer 2021 and it worked, but now it's happened again. I followed the same- procedure, but it's not working. It might be a bad key pad.....However, I'm going to take the summitch apart again and go through these procedures very slowly and carefully....again. Hopefully it will work. Failing that, I'll be looking to remover and replace the key pad.
Thank you so so very Much! Your video caused me save $260 , my microwave is different model and it’s RV microwave, but the concept is same, the cable was loose, and I fixed it in 10 minutes. Blessings!
This is a wonderful video. It will save lot of money and frustration to lot of users. Thank you very much for clear shots and emphasizing critical issues. I have forwarded your video link to one of my relatives. Thank you once again for your time. You did a great service, Sir!!!
I didn't realize how often I used my microwave until the buttons stopped working. Looked for the cheapest one on Amazon. $$$ Thanks this cost me nothing.
Thank you so much. You are truly a microwave saver!!!. I was about to order another one and then I remembered You Tube and how talented people share their skills and knowledge with others and you made my day! Thank you a thousand times.😊💎
Save the cash and time goin to go get another Micro!!!... haa.. Thnx buddy!!... I ddnt even think anybody else had the same problem!!.. Lol.. Glad I found u brother!!....✌️😎👍
Well. That explains one thing. My panel will not repsond to a touch on any button... except the timer button. That makes sense because all of the other buttons involve priming the machine to turn on heating. But the timer does not engage the microwave it only engages the timer. Since the timer doesn't need the door safely closed to operate, it will respond with a beep even though none of the number buttons will respond . I am going to check this out right now. BRB.
I am simply amazed, my microwave is going on 15 years and am just experiencing problem with the button panel that goes out and sometimes comes back on. I will try this info shared on how to fix my microwave and I am sure it will work...thank you so much👏💯❤
Thank you for posting this video. My old microwave wasn't responding properly to the push button panel controls. I saw your video and removed the panel, taking out and then re-seating the control ribbon into the circuit board just as you did. I put everything back together and checked. It is now working perfectly. Thanks again. My microwave is 22 years old by the way; some sort of record for longevity.
@@seeharvester Mine is an old Kenmore dating from 1998. It's still working by the way. There has not been a hitch since I did the control ribbon thing. Maybe the vibration caused by use disrupts the connection over time, who knows?
I hate to say it but, I fixed mine by unplugging it and plugging it back in again! I was about to take it apart and my wife suggested I try that. I can't believe it worked.
Thank you so much! My wires and ribbon looked fine inside, so I thought this wasn't the problem, but I simply pushed them in again gently just to make sure they are all fully really okay, and that fixed it!
Thank you sir. Worked wonders! This was my exact issue. MO was a magic chef ( home depot) the assembly was even easier. Inner components where the same though. Bests to you!
@@timothydesoto1707 Yes. I had given up. Saw the video and dod the exact ribbon process. It has been two days and it’s good as new. Just take apart the 3 screws on the back and the panel will be accessible. Since the screw is a star head with a dot in the middle( sorry don’t know the name ), i used a flathead and forced it in a little to get a grip and remove gently…
Thank you! Gave me the confidence to do it myself and its working fine now. I wouldnt have been able to afford another one for months so this really helped me out.
Thanks so much. I have a home warrantee policy and will probably still have to spend $75 for a service call, since it is a bit more than I want to try, but at least I know more than I did before, and can make sure whoever they send is careful and competent. 👍 Tip: Start a bank account for repairs. It is actually cheaper in the long run not to use these warrantee companies, and to just buy new stuff at some point, but my home was new over a decade ago, so I have paid a lot into warrantees, and feel I need to suffer with them now, to get some return on my outlay.
Excellent video, but I want to caution you, DO NOT clean the cable end with any solvent! IT will wipe off the contact! Ask me how I know? I used a nickel conductive pen to paint them back on, and it mostly works except a few buttons.
Only my ‘1’ Minute Button works. Intermittently, the ‘30 Sec” Button may work. Then stops working. All random. Presently I have 1 working button; that’s 1 Minute Button.
Wow, if this works (and I suspect it probably will since mine has been going behaving this way sporadically for a couple of months), I'm going to save a lot of money! I will update later.
Well, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. I used to work on copiers and the dome buttons were always the problem. I assumed it to be the case with my microwave. I did not want to spend that kind of money on an old inexpensive appliance. Thanks for the reminder that it can very well be the simple fix like cleaning contacts! Those pesky ribbon cables...I forgot about 'em. Thanks for the video and the how-to. I was back up in 15 minutes or so! Thanks again.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Straight forward cable reseating video and God knows how many hundreds of dollars you have saved me with my 15 year old GE profile under cabinet microwave. Thank you, thank you, and THANK YOU!!!👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏
Perfect fix for our Samsung microwave. Thank You! In my case, the ribbon cable was securely in place. I removed it, cleaned it, and re-inserted it. Worked like a charm.
wow, and my technician was just lazy to really check the problem. Thanks Sam, you saved me from buying a new one... which i don't have the money to do so. \
Very helpful video. My power is on and all the buttons work except the Start, Also not working is the quick start. When you press 1/2/3, it tells you to press the Start button instead of starting automatically. I really don't want to call for servicing or pay during this Covid problem. :-(
I had the same problem on my Electrolux microwave, it doesn't have a ribbon connector but it does have a long multi pin connector that presses against the control board. I just cleaned both connectors with alcohol put it back together and it works fine now.
My wife was panic when our microwave doesn't stop beeping, she called me at work, the microwave won't wtop beeping, she's worried if she need to buy a new one. But when I search here in the youtube channel. How to fix the microwave panel? And you came up your video, and I follow your video, unplug the microwave power and full out the panel board, the connection was fine, except the wrapping cable got grease. So I clean it up very well and dry for it. Then when I install back the panel board and plug in back. Its working properly, and my wife was so happy. Thanks for the video its help a lots and learning something how to save the money to repair the appliances.
Thank you for making this video sir mine is brand new not even a half a year old and it had the same problem I'm guessing I'm going to be doing it to mine in the morning as I just got off of work and am to tired to mess with it tonight but thank you so very much for making this video and I did subscribe to your channel.will.message you if I run into any sort of problems
I have almost the same problem but only the #1 button, clock button and light button do not work, do you think I need to replace the entire keypad panel?
After doing this ... it works 2-3 times. Then again same problem. After doing the same thing ... it gain work. But after this Again error occurred. Error code: C-d0
Today when using the microwave I was heating some pizza and I opened the door and the microwave turned off, no power or nothing, this is a one year old microwave just like the one in the video
My microwave started beeping then gave me a se code took all the connectors apart pushed on the ribbon and everything started working again great easy fix thanks.
Before one tries to open the panel, please unplug the microwave for 5 mins to overnight. It will reset and will work as normal. I found this technique to work all the time.
i have the control panel not responding bit the ribbon cable is fine. do you know what it could be? first it stopped to respond to some buttons, and when i managed to make it start it did not showed the numbers correctly, and sometimes when it got to 0 it just kept going starting from the max number like 76:76. and now the control panel does nothing.
My buttons are physical, and they do work (barely), so I'm not sure what's wrong with mine. For example, when I press "Microwave," that kind of works. Then, I have to press "Select," and that is harder to get working. After that, I have to set a time with the up/down buttons. There comes the bigger problem. The up arrow button simply doesn't work, and the down one does but barely. So I have to get that to work and hold it down until it counts down from 99 minutes. And then the "Start" button is another story. I can get that working by spamming it rapidly, and it either works or it doesn't.
I just tried this on my Emerson microwave, and it worked right away. It's very strange that a cable like that would ever come loose. I'm wondering if disconnecting and reconnecting the ribbon cable is draining the panel of any residual power that might be causing the fault. Anyway, thanks for the quick fix!
Great video BUT my microwave doesn't have a vent cover on TOP. I was able to find how to remove the cover on mine and will use your instructions for the next phase. Will also explore your channel for other topics because you are a good teacher :)
Most of the numbers on my mine are responding but the clock, start/stop and reset do not . More buttons are losing their ability to beep as well like 5 I will try this as a last resort as im super afraid of that thing
