My favorite book I’ve read this year would probably be Chain of Gold because it got me through lockdown and Will, Jem and Tessa are my favorites! Currently reading The Hunger Games trilogy for the first time (I know I’m way late) so I can hopefully read Ballad this year. The most anticipated book I’m looking forward to is Christopher Paolini’s To Sleep in a Sea of Stars!! :)

the ballad of songbirds of snakes was rly good imo! I think it did a good job with showing us how the hunger games developed over time between the prequel and the trilogy, as well as showing us the backward thinking of snow. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, I did hear a lot of people disliking it :/ edit: unpopular opinion: the cover is so stunning! I know people thought it was rly ugly, but to be fair, I did see it in person first, and I think it's prettier in person. edit: another unpopular opinion, Ik people were mad bc they wanted a book on haymitchs or another victors game, which is fair, but we already have 2 books focusing on the tributes in the game. im glad we got a whole new perspective from someone experiencing the games from the outside.

If you like books about grief, I’d recommend The Chaos of Standing Still by Jessica Brody, it’s one of my favorites. It’s also really funny in the non-grief related parts

I know this is kind of unrelated but the thing that i love about booktube is that I NEVER EVER see hate comments. Yes, there are people with different opinions who share them in the comments but no one ever hates or complains and i love that. (basically we're all a big happy booktube family)

Firstly - the aesthetics in this video are top-notch! Secondly, I'm really glad that your reading is going well recently! You definitely made me interested in Keigo Higashino - weirdness of the stories sounds fascinating - and Justin Reynold's books. I also like grief explored in books, so I would love to pick them up. Outside the video, recently I started a reread of a childhood favorite series, Septimus Heap, and it has been such a fun ride. The focus on family dynamics is lovely. It's nice that despite everything happening books can bring such pleasure and escapism to us. I hope you'll get to your anticipated releases and enjoy them. Have a great day!
