As a new player i'd love to see a series of short videos about what's needed to get started with these boxes as that starting point. What books do we need, what add-ons should we get first and so on.
Lovely stuff guys - great to see Sam on the channel and this was a really funny listen - lovely finding the joy in these older sculpts! Looking forwards to the next one! Damian
Hi Chaps, i want to get back to this game. Is the rulebook the same as the one that cam out for Pelennor Fields? Looking at Rohan, what should I go for?
I think the Rohan box is so versatile! I will when I return to Rohan buy one of these boxes. I will want to convert the third plastic Eomer I would then own into a captain. This box is the only one of the four that’s being released so far that I do own the hero for, so the others will jump above this. Great video as always and glad to see Sam on board!
box set is great! model quality is showing its age. looks like most of my rohan warriors had half of their face melted. great review in terms of game play. Thanks!
These boxes are really quite great. Relative to say the starter box or the contents purchased separately it is good value, and seeing how much it costs for UK players (around 53 pound) It'll be a good help to get more players into the hobby. I can see parents being able to easily afford to get two for their kids birthday or Christmas, which is great for the longevity of the hobby. For people down under its a bit of an ask at 145 dollars (around 80% marked up compared to UK) but in GW relative value its alright. It feels like a bit much for a newer hero sculpt and plastic troops approaching 2 decades old. The main thing I don't like is that these boxes are not fully playable. They all only contain one hero and you'll need to purchase at least one or two more to be able to 'legally' run all the miniatures in the box. These really seem to be a step in the right direction but because of regional pricing those outside of the UK will not really be able to feel the positives of these releases.
Looking forward to picking up the battlehosts! Eventually going to get them all, but starting with the battle for Ozgiliath box set! Going to finish that before getting the battlehosts :)
Battle boxes are a tremendous entry point with some very great pricing. Honestly surprised with GW. I just pre ordered the new Elrond model and the new Rivendell dice set. I'd love to see a new Gil Galad model alongside some new High Elves but obviously that's a pipe dream
We’re on the same page, I don’t think we’ll have to wait too long for a GG! The banner man in with Elrond is a good marker to a possible switch to plastic troops in the future maybe??
@@TopTableGaming Here's hoping, the entire last alliance line would be a great addition to the game. Would be amazing to see some new Elendil and isildur models. And maybe if GW is feeling generous, Anarion, Orophin and Amdir!
I first dipped my toe with this game back when the Two Towers box released, but didn't go far beyond that because buying metal minis three-at-a-time was not financially viable. This seems like a far more sustainable option, so maybe it's time to have another go.
I like these recent reviews of the battlehost boxes. I got the battle of pelennor starter box last year so this Rohan box is probably not for me and the Izengard box is very good value for money so will go for that. One other point...wouldn't it be great if deagostini or hachette brought out a new LOTR partworks...I still have a couple of those from the 90's :-)
