Thank you for your sweet words about my channel, Kate! ❤ I’m really looking forward to our buddy read. Also, I’m planning to read Wonder for MGM too if you want to discuss that one as well! 😊
Wonder and Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise are my all time two favorite middle grade books. They are both so well written and such meaningful stories.
The Eilis Dillon books look marvelous! You’ve introduced me to two authors I’d never heard of before: Dillon and also Elizabeth Cadell. This is why BookTube is wonderful. 😊 Thanks, Kate and happy March reading!
Wonderful list! Both Wonder and The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise were both favorites of my middle school book clubs. I loved both but especially Wonder. And I do recommend the movie Wonder based on the book. They did a great job honoring the book and characters in that adaptation. Enjoy! I highly recommend A Place to Hang the Moon by Kate Abus, The Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus by Dusti Bowling, and The Great Turkey Walk by Kathleen Karr from this genre also. ❤️
I absolutely ADORE Song for a Whale. I actually reviewed it on my channel a few years ago. Whales are my favorite, so this was amazing. I hope you love it!
❤📚 It's so fun seeing what everyone is choosing for middle grade March. I loved The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise. I have Wonder on my middle grade March tbr as well.
Looks like you've got a great lineup for March. If you want to read a book a day, read a book a day! ❤ This is the month to do it. I don't think it would work so well during Victober, for example. 😂
I recently saw that my library had the Fairy Tales of Ireland by Yeats and thought it would be great to check out. I read El Deafo for a class in library school and loved it! Do you know about Nathan Hale's Hazardous Tales? The first one is One Dead Spy about Nathan Hale from the American Revolution. They are middle grade history comics and really wonderful. Even if you don't like them, your boys might really enjoy them. I read the fifth in the series about Harriet Tubman just this month (The Underground Abductor).
My 12 yo and I are reading Island of the Horses! ♥️😄 I’m very curious about the Yates fairy tale!!! 😍😍😍 So many of these sound so interesting! I didn’t connect Pony and Wonder as the same author. Interesting! I’m reading Mud City for the immigrant prompt! It’s a #3 in a quartet. It’s heartbreaking ❤️🩹 so I had to take a break. I have kids that LOVE Good Master! 😁♥️
So many books that sound so good! I may have asked you this before, but have you read A Company of Fools by Deborah Ellis? It's set in a monastery in maedieval France during the plague, and follows some children, two in particular, who live there. I can't say for sure, but I think you might like it.
Love this video! Your new sweatshirt and book choices are so fun. I have the audiobook of Sweet Home Alaska on my TBR. I recently started reading E. Nesbit's children's books and will be picking up book two of The Psammead Trilogy 'The Phoenix and the Carpet'. Plus, I would love to watch the BBC adaption of 'Five Children and It' it looks delightful! Have you see any of those episodes? 😊💛
Thank you!! You are reminding me that I want to read Five Children and It sometime to my boys. I haven't seen the BBC adaptation but will check it out!
