Midst is an audio drama in which three mischievous narrators spin a surreal, reality-bending, sci-fantasy, space western about a crotchety outlaw, a struggling cultist, and a diabolical bastard making awful decisions in a world on the edge of disaster.
Some themes and situations that occur in-show may be difficult for some to handle. If certain episodes or scenes become uncomfortable, we strongly suggest taking a break or skipping that particular episode.

It’s kind of funny how the improvised enormous exploding camera helped contribute to the fact that this sci fi world doesn’t have an accurate picture of the most wanted woman in universe.

Also, man, Weepe's been in Highest Light for only a few days and he's now FULLY acclimated to the kinds of games the Upper Trust play. Probably because he's always been a player.

Yes Me Weepe has always been a player. Regardless of “if he believes in Valor” he sees it as a tool. Thus, he used his Midst level betrayal winnings - to “buy-in at the high rollers table” - I’m fully expecting him to follow the “rules” in unintended ways to cash in on more Valor. [and then flip that into a different ‘asset’ at the right time, as circumstances require]

Moc Weepe seems like the kind of guy who would remember Lark...an older woman, very dangerous by reputation, somehow survives living in the wilderness, hunting "things". And who was often swinging in to talk to Sherman. There's no way Weepe would look at the stats: The suspect's age, her looks, her abilities...and not put 2+2 together. I think he's just going for confirmation, or maybe just "I didn't know myself and withhold that information but boy howdee sir I cracked the case!"
@Nylota
@Nylota 7 месяцев назад
I think its so he has all his ducks in a row, so that when the Valor Freeze is lifted, he can be credited for exactly what he did. He didn't acquire this information through non-valourous means, so nothing to be deducted.And Sherman also gets dinged again for hiding such information. I don't think that Weepe's main goal but a nifty bonus.

not sure if continuity error or deliberate misdirection but it's weird how this episode begins with talking about how no-one has spoken to Sherman since Spahr did, but we know that at the end of that episode the slimy Loxley gentleman went in to speak to Sherman *alone*. Even if we're not supposed to know what was talked about it's weird that it doesn't come up here.
@4dragons632
@4dragons632 7 месяцев назад
I was thinking about this too! There's probably no way its a continuity error since it was an episode ending moment that would definitely be on the overall plot document. But since according to interviews many of the lines they do improvise on recording day maybe it could have slipped through.
@t3rcx
@t3rcx 7 месяцев назад
It's also possible that maybe he didn't actually speak to Sherman at all for some reason and just wanted to go somewhere with no prying eyes while establishing an alibi. Or it's intentional misdirection by the narrators so that we forget this happened, making a later reveal more impactful. I doubt it's a fully forgotten plot point, in any case.

I feel like weep already knows so why is he relying on sherman? Is he genuinely trying to help him or something else entirely?
@rowenwolff
@rowenwolff 7 месяцев назад
Yeah maybe he feels guilty so he wants Sherman to turn Lark in so that he gets the benefit of doing that? Cause Weepe has already made it! Besides more accolades he's not getting a lot out of telling the trust about Lark but it could change Sherman's life. Still though Weepe finds it too easy to betray people and Sherman doesn't. So I don't know but you're right it seems like Weepe already knows so there's gotta be some ulterior motive??
@Imperial_Squid
@Imperial_Squid 7 месяцев назад
He may not know who Lark is and he just wants a better witness, but also, knowing who Lark is and not turning her in would be an _extremely_ bad look for Weepe
@WitchLunaEstrella
@WitchLunaEstrella 7 месяцев назад
All Weepe knows is that Sherman knows Lark, and therefore will likely have key information about where she could be right now. That's why he needs him. It's a similar reason to why the Trust still have Sherman in custody rather than putting him back in his place, though the Trust haven't quite connected the dots the way Weepe has just yet.

Considering the timeline with the case Laarc was a child when this murder happened. My theory is that she killed Max as an act of self defense. Maybe Max acted inappropriately with children and Laarc was one of his victims and killed him.

Too old I think. Lark looks like 60s, late 50s at best. Tsilia is like what, 12? Unless lark is an old looking 50-55 and had Tsila right at the end of biological possibility, it doesn't add up. @hunterwallasus3582

It’s a common interrogation tactic. “We already know, and we already know that you know, so why don’t you just tell us”. In reality, Weepe is a math and paperwork guy, who almost lives in his office, and I guess that lark and him have never even spoken. He’s not a very social dude.

@@hunterwallasus3582 yeah maybe~ he definitely had me convinced especially cause this is improv. But weepe is good at the manipulation game I just don't know what more he can get out of having Lark caught. No freeze on Valor I guess?
@fkaliases
@fkaliases 7 месяцев назад
@@rowenwolff My guess would be that he wants to secure Sherman as an ally, he really doesn't have anyone he knows the motivation of to work with in the Trust, as well as actually feeling some guilt, possibly. On what he'd get out of having Lark caugt... He implied in the council that solving the murder case would solve their current market crisis, generating enough valor with that act to offset the moon blowing up, and he's probably aiming to be the guy earning that valor for himself, which in turn would probably allow him to take over the Trust as a whole.
@matluoma9195
