I love how Saskias has become basically a fourth protagonist by this point. Can't wait to see how she's going to adapt and learn to make the best out of her new more complicated body. She's a strong contender for my absolute favourite character in all of Midst.

Yeah I'm super curious about the mechanics of all this... She's able to support herself so her movement isn't strictly mirrored in two places... Can she speak out of one or other mouth or is it always both? Would she be able to pull off both the distraction and extraction halves of a heist herself? (She has essentially perfect communication between both halves, no need for radio or anything) This plot point is gonna be huge in its implications I think...

@@Imperial_Squid I would guess it would be a matter of concentration and practices. Kinda like, if you move one of your fingers, the others also move to a certain part but if you concentrate you can lessen that effect by having the other fingers stay in position. This is of course much more complicated but also with incredible potential. Saskia can have twice as much work done, or give herself an alibi.

So Saskia just became ad hoc mayor of Stationary Hill. With all those responsibilities plus the rebuilding efforts, I don’t know how she’ll juggle it, having to be two places at once… wait… Oddly I’m curious what her “stat block” looks like now, how mechanically it works for her.

@@abaddonarts1129there is a video on this channel were they talk with the creators of Midst. One of the questions was how it is made. They said it's mostly improvised, with only a loose outline for what is going to happen in an episode

Well, I guess that'll make it either easier or harder for the people talking to her later on, lol. Once she changes clothes, it'll be one Saskia wearing one outfit and another wearing another. Unless she has her entire wardrobe doubled. Or maybe she can't change clothes at all, and the dress is melded with her now.

Wow. I was thinking of all sorts of complications for Saskia....something like a voice mutation from her singing, she turns out like Weepe, merges with her dogs, comes out absolutely fine...did not see "replication" coming. It's also nice how you let the townsfolk and us readers come back from the horror with a trio of really good doggos who are doing just fine.

in her intro in ep 1x02 saskia was described as being very aware of her surroundings, "paying attention to everything all at once" so i love how that was exacerbated by the tearrors

The segment between 8:19 and 9:09 is pure *art*. The initial slow burn of what Saskia is seeing, the description of her surroundings, the snap of realization and its repeated narration for emphasis, and then the apex of the music when the choral vocals hit and flow flawlessly with the guitar... Oh my god. It genuinely brought a tear to my eye. It's beautiful. I'm so glad I found Midst, and that Third Person are pouring their heart and soul into every moment of it. Bravo.

This is basically turning into a storytelling version of Convergence Station in Denver. It’s one of the Meow Wolf locations, with a transit theme related to traveling between dimensions. Everything Third Person is describing would fit perfectly in that world. To be honest, if it wasn’t for the Anonymity factor, I’d love to see someone organize a meetup/live show/event at Convergence Station with Third Person as the guests of honor.

...Wait a minute. If the Foldscars all show up as black (similar to Lark's scar) then Weepe stands out as someone with porcelain white skin? Does that mean his blood color is his scar and that's why he draws it so often? Odd. Also, two Saskias that share one mind is dope and has so much potential there, both for how far apart one can be from the other and what it may mean down the line. At least she can communicate a lot more and help stuff more!

I'm confused about how the Fold works after this. If Midst rotates in the Fold and the Fold seeps into everything every single day, which is why they need those special lightbulbs and lights, then why was this any different? Or have I been misunderstanding the Fold and Midst's place in it this entire time?

I think it's because this was a large concentrated wave rather than the steadier flow that normally happens, so the effects were much more extreme. The lightbulbs help stave off the worst of it normally, but weren't enough to handle such a huge amount of Fold at once and likely all broke (if they were even turned on, a majority of them weren't even switched on at the time since nobody was expecting this).

Think of it as the water of an old pond; there's all kinds of gross nasty sediment that stratifies down to the bottom, leaving the surface tainted, but mostly clear. Then drop a giant rock in, and see the disturbance, except everything wafting up to the surface is pure, reality-warping Terror instead of the 'just inky darkness' of the surface Fold.

Yeah, I could be wrong, but tearrors start from disturbed fold, so something like the wave would generate a lot of tearrors, while the normal fold doesn’t

Since the consciousness is shared, it might just be she reverts back to a normal person. A very traumatized one...but a normal person. It's going to be if just one of her goes to sleep at a time or if just one of her is captured by the trust.

I just realized something... the moon exploded here, and the moon "exploded" in Campaign 3. Magic is all screwed up there, everything is screwed up here because of the Fold. Coincidence?
