Midst is an audio drama in which three mischievous narrators spin a surreal, reality-bending, sci-fantasy, space western about a crotchety outlaw, a struggling cultist, and a diabolical bastard making awful decisions in a world on the edge of disaster.
Some themes and situations that occur in-show may be difficult for some to handle. If certain episodes or scenes become uncomfortable, we strongly suggest taking a break or skipping that particular episode.

I applaud you three. It is not every storyteller who has the moxie to describe the indescribable. I am saddened and horrified at the fate of the Postmaster, Mr. Potts, and Maurice (who?), concerned for Giselle, Fiona and Jacob, and Emmett, and a little bit happy for the (former) twins, and Patricia. I'm mostly relieved that the Foldhounds are immune to tearror (maybe their presence protects Saskia a little?) and hope that Lark, Tzila and even Phineas are off the cable before whatever happened to it... happens to them. I really wonder how people still alive after all this can/will recover and re-enter society, but of course that's always the question after a (natural, though presumably caused by artificial means) disaster that affects so many. But what will the survivors do? Will anyone (dare to) come for them? Won't they just be sitting in a lake of tearror once the wave has passed and the "seas" calm? Looking forward to finding out... everything 😄.

Was the fold speaking to us???? What I could make out from the altered Teletheric (Some is from captions, others I think I heard beneath the narration" "skies occluded with the substrate aberrant / universe / mat which is the tale of sings..." "Bursting" "sights" "Particularly with you sweet listener, going / going u-uch " "tread dark trenches where the light cannot glow or go / Arca / Balustrade / Caenum" (These last three words repeat and overlap a dozen or so times after the initial clear speaking) HOLY SHIT. I love this so much. Every episode is totally new and unique, and the Tearrors were NOT what I was expecting. I had assumed more of a monster side of things, but this is like being immersed into Welcome to Nightvale, Control, or The Magnus Archives to the deepest extent. Pure, unadulterated chaos, true randomness of the universe as things shift and alter and randomize and *change and twist* those caught within it. Brilliant storytelling that I am so eager to drink in every week. I have just one question now: If this is what a Cataclysmic Tearror does to people, and we can assume that some will live through it... then what the FUCK does Moc Weepe have in his blood?? That stuff immediately melted Atticus Concord in moments. Does he literally has Tearrors in his skin? What the hell. (That Teletheric being altered to say some cryptic stuff is also very awesome, I love that sort of thing)

@willcaster819
@willcaster819 8 месяцев назад
It would be a little difficult I think. There isn’t very much action in this story. Which is to say that there aren’t many fight scenes. There’s plenty of other action, but when people say action they usually mean fights. Additionally, most of the charm of this show comes from Third Person’s unreliability in their narration. That would be lost in any other medium. That’s not to say that it’s a bad idea. I’d love to see an animated series as much as anyone else. It would just be very difficult to maintain the feel of the original.
@vonoostenstein
@vonoostenstein 8 месяцев назад
@@willcaster819I find the shows I remember the most and rewatch regularly are the ones dense in conversation and less in action. I think this would lend itself well to an animated show that focuses on character development rather than action packed scenes. You make a good point on the unreliable narrator. Maybe they could do something similar to The Watcher in the Marvel "What If..." show. Lurking behind the veil of reality, narrating, but also interacting by adjusting characters and events as they see fit.
@willcaster819
@willcaster819 8 месяцев назад
@@vonoostenstein Oh I 100% agree that a dense, dialogue heavy, animated sci-fi western/drama would be an incredible premise. Speaking for myself, I prefer shows like that. There is just as much tension and action to be found in a combative conversation as there is to be found in a great fight scene. To the average viewer who knows Critical Role though? It would be an unexpected shift given that literally every episode of TLoVM has a fight in it. A fact that I personally find incredibly tedious. And I just know that there would be people with zero media literacy complaining about how “it’s just people talking.”
