Phineas just culted so hard he made the other cultists feel uncomfortable.

I didn't think much of Midst when it was first advertised on Critroll but I've slowly grown to like it more and more. Now I'm finally ready to say this: *Midst is fucking fantastic.*

Every so often, Phineas' eyes dart around and it's SO unsettling Jesus...

"Weepe practically shits himself" well this caught me off guard, haha

Finally. Full circle. I love this series! But goddamn it Sherman! Not Sherman!

Weepe dragged away a bag of Valor, Thatch dragged away what used to be a father named Sherman Guthrie, and now Lark has dragged away a freshly orphaned Tzila Guthrie oh my gOd I need the next episodeE

...And that makes 3/3 in the "protagonists who murdered someone" category. Welcome to the Club, Thatch. You're in great company.

The downfall of Phineas has been so heartbreaking but so fascinating to watch

That. Was. BEAUTIFUL. I mean, horrifying, but absolutely beautifully told. That said, 😂🤣 at how very easily the Trust was able to trigger the trap that Weepe didn't know he was in. Took only 2 easy steps: ignoring his request/instruction, and uttering 1 sentence in front of everyone. They are so expert at this. *Imelda* is so expert at this (since she set it up, and probably instructed Thatch). Tragically funny how Weepe thought he was gonna game *this* system. Poor Sherman. I don't know if I hope he's (somehow, after being dragged through the streets while dying) alive (for Tzila's sake), or not (for his own sake, and to spite Thatch and save Lark long enough to get away). But certainly a white-collar criminal such as Sherman -- and even a violent criminal *who has been restrained* -- does not "deserve" to die due to police brutality like that. Phineas flat lost it, but honestly I don't see how anyone could have seen that coming and stopped it in time/before it started. Tells you something about 'triggers', among the many, many deep cuts in this ep. _GOOD ON LARK_ for immediately protecting Tzila from the sight of her father like that. And.... I guess that if Lark identifies Sherman as 'dead', then he's dead, because Lark would know.😞 Good reaction and response, though. Not that it may help much, "because the moon explodes." Again. Finally. Why?🤔 Maybe next week we'll finally find out wtf is up with that?😉

the moon exploding was kind of a release to all the tension building up this episode.

Here we freaking go, ladies and gentlemen! All the pieces are coming together beautifully. And what is revealed, is sure to be climactic.

All of that time in Phineas's head, setting up sympathy for his struggles to get out of this great debt, it makes it easy to forget...oh, right. He's a cop. (Very well played.)

Just... wow. This show is perfection. Never thought an audiodrama could have me hooked like this.

I am unable to really put this into words, this is fascinating. It started relatively well, showed the premise and the way the narrative works, but it has some kinks and nits at the edges you could pick at with some more time when it is a whole season(?). But the way it has crafted the world, with all of its facets and ways in which it interacts with whole other systems making complete sense in what is happening in relation to each other. It has built to this climax for so long, from each of the perspective characters being in them perfectly: - Literally bashing in someone's skull cause you have severe self esteem issues and are a cultist - After selling out your partner for 5 years, seeing your employee (friend?)) watching them get murdered while forced to give your all to a foundation you kinda didn't want to have be part of your existence - and now having to deal with the daughter of a murdered friend, while escaping after just having murdered the most well-known man on the planetoid. I loved the parallels of Phineas dragging a corpse up the hill when Wepp carried a bag of valor down the street just minutes before. Now it is all exploding, literally and figuratively.

The sound design in this one is SO, SO GOOD (as is the whole episode)!

And now we have circled back to the frozen picture described at the beginning! Things are about to enter the area beyond the edge of the map. Can't wait to see what dragons await us in this storyline!

i really dig this series. i grew up in a remote location with a transistor radio (no electricity) and our entertainment consisted of listening to symphony broadcasts (CBC radio) and replays of old radio plays ("the shadow knows!").

Idk if there is any redemption for Phineas after this. I really liked Sherman.

I genuinely am loving this way of storytelling! It just hits so right for my brain! The unreliable narrators! The changing povs! The mystery slowly getting uncovered! So good!

Holy crap, you can even see the crazy eyes in the art of the video, looking around him. Phineas has reached his limit and has harmed an innocent man, and has probably lost the only clue to find Fuze's killer 😢😢😢 will we see our protagonists After the moon falls??

Oh fuck. I knew Phineas was a powder keg, but...shit, I thought he'd go off on someone like Weepe or something, not...not like this. Absolutely horrifying.

Each word is a tiny click ... counting suspenseful moments... the action rises ... imaginary click goes harder... faster... then... WHAM! what a glorious bit of storytelling!

The sounds just keep getting better omg. The bar fight with the screaming and glass breaking had me shook🫣😳

This show was a slow burn at first, but it has finally begun to erupt and the payoff is incredible.

Oh this is so great, showing how his own insecurity can turn into violence because he has such a weak character. Only weak let their insecurities out on others that are weaker than them

Because the moon EXPLODES! Man this was a wild episode. I was a big Mr. Weep fan boy but after this and his previous episode I’m not sure I can maintain that. Breaks my heart that Sherman paid the price and now his daughter is all alone. Can’t trust the Trustees.

The moment Phineas entered the bar I knew that we would end up with him dragging a dead Sherman out of the bar

Noooo, that cliffhanger. That brutal bar scene...wow just wow. More intense than nearly any movie.

I hoped Phineas would realise that he was on the wrong side and start working against the trust but instead he became even worse and is still not going to get what he wants. Poor Sherman and poor Tzila...

I’ve been binging through the current season of Midst for the past couple weeks and this is the last episode before I’m caught up. I just KNOW there’s going to be a cliffhanger and it’s going to kill me 😂

.... I forgot about the moon ... Oh Phineas, dude... Poor boy needs some therapy, damn.

I'm about to go around asking people if they've listened to Midst and slapping them in the face if they haven't.

Damn this show is so good. I'm super happy I gave it a chance. I had drifted away from CR as a whole, just lacked the time, but recently was finding my way back just before Midst episode one came out and decided to give it a shot. Now while I catch up on CR I look forward to saving the new Midst for Saturday and haven't been this invested in something for years. I love the "radio drama" feel. It's so good!

I cant never get enough of re-listening to this show, its so great going through it again. Has absolutely become my favourite podcasts after the second season (no spoilers but holy fuck that is some good storytelling and voice acting)

The way my heart STOPPED for a second when the music dropped and Phineas and his troop entered.... hooo, my, I about died. And then the music just kept going, making the whole thing worse. Jesus H Odinson...

It's all coming together. Every week I'm amazed by every part of this story slowly coming together, often referencing things that happened number of episodes back, some of which made no sense at the time. Genius storytelling.

I'm listening to this while driving in my car. And I'm just so everything right now. And as soon as the end happened and they said the moon exploded I screamed out loud in my car. Holy shit! Now what!?!?

Whoah...I felt bad for Mr. Weep. Did NOT see that coming. Phineas!?! Whoah!

This show is si INSANELY good, i can hardly think of anything that can hold up with THAT. I just love it and can´t wait for the wednesdays to come just to know how this story unfolds further

The weapons of Phineas and the rest of the guys coming with him are STUNNING and I love them! Wow. It's also a very, very unfortunate situation all around. Oh Weepe. Of course it wasn't gonna work out as you wanted it to. Of COURSE they'll tell on you. Of course you lost the moment you interacted with them AT ALL. Thought you were so clever, didn't you? This was an epic chapter! ❤. Really good really intense and i f*cking called it. Weep had it backfire and so much drama ensued. And now a child does not have a father. Larke better step up because I love her

So Weepe failed his stealth check, Phineas failed his wisdom check, and Lark passed both her spot and dexterity checks. I feel let down by Phineas. I had hoped that the body was from him killing someone because he realized the trust was corrupt and decided to stand against it. Instead he became blindly zelous. When the moon was brought up I thought, wow that's convenient timing. What if that's why the planet was sold? Because the previous owner knew that something was wrong with it and that everything would go to crap?

Full circle at last. And now we have to wait for another week for the follow up. Dang, I almost wish I had waited to binge all of Season 1 in one go. Almost. Because this is too brilliant to miss out on. So many questions still left unanswered... Is it Wednesday yet?

well, fork. i did it again. i just wanted to clean a bit and listen to some midst, cause i didn't get to it so far so i just looked up the whole playlist, clicked at it and didn't check what episode is playing. cause, like. first episode. what else would be playing, when i click at the full playlist, right?! -_- ... i did it with the blood of zeus (what?! pirating shows? no way. never done that) when i didn't realize i recently changed the sorting of files on my pc to descending and watched the last episode accidentally. ... it was very similar experience xD "wow, starting with action. bold. hmmm, that's a lot of characters to remember. this looks fun. oh wait. why is the next episode not playing. it's a playlist ..." xD

The beginning of this episode is, honest to God, a MASTERWORK in 4th-wall-use narrative and I'm profoundly moved by this artful delivery. I could do a dissertation on this pinnacle of storytelling craftwork. Absolutely STUNNING work.

Now my question is, does the Trust consider this a fuck up if Sherman ends up confessing? And, if so, what's Phineas's situation going to be after this? The captain saw everything but didn't seem to have that huge a reaction to everything so I'm not sure if this could go either way.

This is incredible

Spoilers ahead- The way they wrote complicated, two-dimensional characters. Phineas, this victim of the system he's in has snapped and murdered someone. Weepe, human shit feeling some kind of remorse. The most likable character is Lark now, and she killed an old man. The pieces coming into place, the complicated morals of the characters, it's a MASTERPIECE.

This is just AMAZING!
