Presented in partnership with Minnesota Nursery & Landscape Association, the "Designer in Bloom" and "Budding Talent" Awards recognize portfolios of excellence in landscape design for single-family homes. These awards spotlight individual achievement rather than projects, and focus on an up-and-coming designer and an established designer with an outstanding body of work. Honorees are selected by a jury that includes practicing professionals in the fields of landscape education, landscape architecture, and horticulture, and representatives from Midwest Home magazine. The designer selected receives an editorial feature about their career and work published in the June/July issue of Midwest Home, and a plaque awarded at the MNLA Landscape Gala. Jack Dorcey of Landscape Design Studios is the Budding Talent of the year, while Douglas Owens-Pike of EnergyScapes, Inc. is the Designer in Bloom.
