Thank you so much for this - I've the identical vacuum cleaner and the identical problem. Been bothering me for ages, thought I'd have to replace the vacuum! No more hoovering while holding the lid down with one foot, bonus :)
You're a life saver! Had a different issue. I couldn't close the lid - one side was stuck and just having my right hand underneath the cover and left pushing down (as you did) fixed it! 👍
Nice to see someone using original parts instead of knock-off third party brands. It's always worth buying original filters and bags. People don't understand that you have to maintain your vacuum cleaner. Proves they don't read the literature that comes with it.
Great! Solved the same problem with my 2 year old Miele C3. lesson learned on cheap so called 'compatible' products. Miele consumables only for me from now on!!! Many thanks.
The Miele GN and FJM use the same shaped face plate but are different size bags. I actually forget which one is bigger. As for the exhaust filter the SF-aac or SF-AH filters both have a rubber edging for best possible air seal. If you add a super air clean filter as well (fabric) the seal will actually not be as good so it will let a tiny bit more dust out of the vacuum.
Help ALEX! I have a vax 6. I took the lid off and now i cannot clip it back on properly. It seems to be "rocking" on something but i cannot figure out what. The lid has several crevices and bumps so impossible to see what is going on... appreciate any help you can offer. Thnku :(
I need a hand with replacing the lid on my Power Plus S5981 model Miele. I have a new lid with both hinges but can't even find a diagram of how to put it back on. Can you help? I downloaded the manual for it and no diagram was in it.
Yes it is not the best with the generic bags. I am wanting to upload simple videos with only 1 topic at the moment. This is why I did not clean or service the machine as such.
If no answer comes of my question above, I will have to take mine a distance to a friend who owns a vacuum store to help me. If that is the case. I will go back on here and post how to do it.
That’s the worst vacuum repair have ever seen my life come on clean the poor vacuum first it’s just gonna blow back into the new filter you just put it in absolutely insane never seen anything like it…..
