At my workplace I asked what to do if I had a migraine. They said just tough it out and use break time if you have to. 15 mins is not enough. Im sure if they had experienced one, they'd feel otherwise.
Yes yes and yes its one of those things that you have to experience to understand. At work I was so unwell once that I was sick in a dust bin thankfully I was alone in the office at the time...
Yea people just think it’s a bad headache but it’s not. It makes you feel sick and faint. I remember one time my sister said she had a migraine once and I’m like “no u didn’t. There’s this thing called a bad headache”
The worst thing is having to work for people who has never had a migraine. They simply don't understand when you have to call in sick, because it's " just a headache". -.-
Carrorolen true I experienced this now I have a vascular head ache and the left side of my brain its always aching I cant go out of the bed also painkiller is not working anymore
Carrorolen true I experienced this now I have a vascular head ache and the left side of my brain its always aching I cant go out of the bed also painkiller is not working anymore
And when you sleep after a long war with ur throbbing pain when you wake up in the middle of night, its like waking up in the middle of a surgery. Its painful. 🤧
i went to the nurse one day at school because of a migraine (mind you i went because i couldnt focus or anything). While i was saying i had a migraine, she told me to lie down and tried to tell me i didnt get migraines. I literally looked at her and said "I went to a pediatric neurologist when I was 9, i was diagnosed with migraines (its been 5 years). Do not tell me im wrong". She said the doctors were wrong. I dont think ive ever been more disappointed in a nurse in a long time. smh
I hated school nurses! I had a migraine once in 7th grade during lunch and had to lay down and cover my face this lady acted like I was just trying to get out of class so she had me try to call my mom on the school phone. But I couldn’t concentrate on how to dial out so I called her on my cell and handed it to the nurse and waited. When my mom got there she stated she was suspicious me potentially using drugs luckily my mom knew what was up and told her off.
I've been dealing with severe chronic migraines since 7th grade(approx. 6-7 years). It was really hard in school because nobody took my pain seriously. I remembered being out of class for 5 straight days because the pain was so severe and nothing helped. It didn't help that my counselor (ya know the person who is "supposed" to be there to help you) told me that I needed to suck it up because in the real world nobody would care. It wasn't until my mom brought in the 3rd letter from my neurologist they finally took me seriously. (The school said they didn't have a note on file but my mom took in the notes herself. My counselor just didn't like me). I've had to see a neurologist and a headache specialist since the beginning because of how bad they are. Thank you for creating this video and spreading more knowledge about the subject, it really means a lot
A V darn it I was in the same exact situation as yours when I was in grade 7 I couldn't go to school for 2 weeks, and if I'd go I would be spending the entire day at nurses, expect when mom took me to doctor they kept redirecting me from one to another.
Someone says Migraines are not as bad as headaches me: Bull shit you try not to cry while it feels like your eyes and going to pop and you can't move or get help at all I've been taking medicine now 2 types and I've had migraines for 7 years and 3 migraines every week
You mean like a cluster headache? (Also called a suicide headache.) Also, migraine has nothing to do with pain severity. I've pretty much always got a mild migraine (a 1 - 3/10), but do get severe ones. Not everyone with migraines go up to 10/10 pain at all, however.
I used to deal with migraines daily, and it was horrible. I'd cry due to how horrific they were and had to be prescribed with medication that eventually stopped working and had to go to a new medication. luckily when I moved out of my aunt's house the migraines died down and eventually went away. We think the bathroom in my room which had a huge crack on the roof may have been growing black mold... I lived in it for over 2 years. it was horrible.
The CrYPtic Ri0 I’d suggest talking to your parents about inspecting your bathroom and any other places in case (If you haven’t already), cause it can definitely be environmental. 😩 I still get some bad migraines now-a-days, but they’re no where near as awful as they were when I lived in the mold. 😭 Not to mention, I’ve heard living in black mold for too long can cause really serious health problems! So it’s not something to take lightly. 😖
@@kevina8071 Surprisingly enough, this comes with an update on my health! My pain didn’t return for a good 4 years until last year around mid 2021. It came back ten fold and it had me in tears for over a month. I would wake up in the middle of the night experiencing so much pain in my right eye that it made my teeth and neck ache, I regularly found myself in the middle of the night sitting on the floor of my bathroom sweating but feeling cold and having sweats only in the right side of my face. It honestly felt like I’d pass out if it got any worse. I began doing research, and found out that many people have been misdiagnosed with Chronic Migraines, only to later find out they are suffering from a thing called Cluster Headaches. :’) which I believe is what I may actually have. They typically come at random and last for weeks or months depending on the person (mine lasted about a month and a half before subsiding), I recently got my healthcare taken care of and will be getting tests done on it hopefully to see if that could be the case.😅
yes, but imagine having migraines everyday. Welcome to my life. I have chronic migraines and everyone always says "come on it's just a headache" the worst part? I'm still in school. I miss so much I will probably fail
Hello, can you please describe the daily migraines? Bc i think i have it too but idk I’m confused... like do you hava headaches everyday but it gets worse on somedays?(when the attack happens) or is it just everyday you get an attack? (Attack is the strong pain that cant get you out of bed with nausea+vomiting? Please describe the daily headaches for me? At least the severity of the pain
Im young 16 years and I started experiencing mine around about 14 and since then I lived with them. It really does suck to hear adults at my school say "I get mingraine too and you dont see me complaining and not showing up for work" and it really does bug me but it's just something I got to deal with for 2 more years.
I once had a weird migraine where it was on the right side of my head, and keep in mind this was my first migraine and it was the ones where you don't get a warning and it just happens, and I legit CRYED I layer in bed, kept flipping my pillow to the cold sides and putting the right side of my head on it, desperately watching RU-vid videos on how to cure migraines, none of them worked, it lasted about 2 and a half hours and then it stopped for like 20 seconds, THEN I GOT A MIGRAINE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY HEAD, same thing, accept it only lasted like 45 minutes, pfft, seriously one of the worst 3 hours of my life.
Wowww this video is awesome!!! I'm a lifelong migraine sufferer and wow I find this video sooooooo right on. I hope many many non-migraine sufferers see this!!!!!
I wish all the people in my life would watch this video so they understand what I go through living with chronic migraines, none of my friends understand
This is so very true. I'm really sick of the people who call their headache a migraine. They wouldn't be doing what they do if it was a true migraine. You can't work through a migraine either as the pain is so incredibly bad. I probably will end up dieing one day from these migraines, one way or another.
Woah! Please be careful with that information, because it can be misleading. You might fool some people into thinking they don't have migraines. The degree of disability vary and the pain too. Does it have to be throbbing? Nope. Can you manage to go to work on a migraine? Maybe, depends on the severity.
So much this. I have two different "types" of pain -- one throbbing, one not. One with photo-sensitivity, one not. One is a dull mild to moderate pain, the other is a moderate to severe pain. I honestly thought I had both headaches AND migraines. My neurologist (a headache/migraine specialist) said both types were migraines for me.
yes, you are right, most of the time mine are not as bad as not being able to go out of my house, but it hurt and its also very hard to do stuff like studying(can't focus)...
I've had migraines since I was 4 (I'm now 15) they last for about three days minimum. I can't do anything cause of the pain and because I'm constantly throwing up. it really annoys me when I'm in class and someone says they have a 'migraine' when they really don't. and you can tell they don't and your not just assuming.
I get pains on both temples and before the pain my vision goes all blurry however I never through up although I feel a little bit sick.... Please tell me if I keep on getting migraines or headaches
My mum suffers from hemiplegic migraines. When I was little I wanted to talk to her when she had a migraine, I didn't really understand how much pain she was in until I had my first migraine about 2 years ago. They are horrible things!
I never was the kind of person to have headaches, not even when I was sick. But like four months ago, I started to get headaches so severe I couldn’t go to school anymore most of the days. Yep, turned out I had migraines. The bad thing was, they always accured around the beginning of the week, so monday, tuesday and wednesday, which were also the longest school days. Everyone, including my own dad, thought i was skipping school. Even now after several medical appointments he still doesn’t believe me, it’s just „take some pain blockers and push through it“. Yeah.. if I could get out of bed.
I've had migraines since I was 5 years old (I'm 15 now). I see a neurologist now and am on medication to help stop my migraines from happening and naproxen usually helps the migraines. My migraines are still as severe when I do get them, but I went from getting them 3 times a week to 3 times a month. I had one today. I had to take 2 naproxen today to relieve it. I took some in the morning before school cuz I woke up with it. That helped a small amount (still a small headache). I got home and it had come back, but worse than it was in the morning. I had to take another naproxen even though you can only take another pill after 12 hours of taking the first one I had to take it. I had to take a nap to alleviate the pain, but still I'm left with acute pain and nausea. I'd like to say I'm used to it by now, but that would be a lie.
I had a migraine yesterday. I was in English class, and my head started pounding. I felt sick. And patterns were everywhere. No one would help me not even my friends. I could barely see or walk, so I began to cry. My teacher send me to first aid and I threw up outside of class... my mom picked me up and I threw up more than 10 times more after that. Luckily I’m ok now... 🤒😭
Have a severe one today, it woke me up from my sleep the pain was so bad I wanted to take my eyes out and I was throwing up none stop but now im better thank god
Migrane is not a simple headache it brings variety of diseases along with itself. Complex migranes are more complicated than anything. Some complex migrane can cause high level anxiety and clinical depression and also can cause various panic attacks. Aural migrane are much more worse which can cause you to disable temporarily from writing, speaking or hearing. Migrane also causes a type of stomach disease . As a sufferer of early complex migrane my life was hell and i observed every detail about it
I know exactly how it feels when smn says:JUST A HEADACHE made stay indoors the whole day. ITS NOT JUST A HEADACHE .I'm from Kenya n I suffer migraines thanks for the video.I wish all parents ,teachers and employers in Kenya could see this video
I’ve been dealing with migraines ever since I was 5th grader I just didn’t realize what a migraine was until I did I my own research which would explain the sensitivity to light and me feeling nauseous every time I wake up in the morning and the one sided headache I have everytime.I even remember 6th grade year having the worst possible migraine I ever experienced to the point that I was crying on the floor to how badly it gotten especially it getting worse with the light 💡 😖😖
Lately I've been having headaches that go through my eye and out my neck like there's a bar going through my head. Sometimes light and sound bothers me, sometimes not. Sometimes they make me sick, sometimes not. I never realized they were migraines until today when I literally couldn't go to school this morning.
I finally saw a neurologist bec my migraines are attacking me monthly and the pain is getting worst. I have to take a day off of work , leave early or waste my day off bec I’m in pain. It’s horrible. I’m nauseous and can’t eat. Can’t tolerate light or sound No one will understand unless they had a migraine. I take prescription pills now and will take an EEG. Its feel like needle going through my brain. I don’t want to explain more bec I’m still in pain and will feel worst. 😰😥😓😨
i have chronic migraines and have to take meds every night for them. when i was first diagnosed my doctor gave me ibuprofen and other headache meds but none of them were strong enough and they didn't seem to realize that migraines aren't just headaches.
I've had migranes since I was in preschool. When I was a kid I was (unknowingly) super empathetic when someone had a headache because I didn't unterstand that all they might have to do is to drink a glass of water and get some fresh air.
Can you please do one of these for the differences with someone who has scoliosis? I suffer from it and I don't think a lot of people understand how bad it can be and the effects.
i don't have migraines very often but i did get sick once and i got them I was nauseous and i as sensitive to sound I cant even imagine living with constant migraines
My boyfriend suffers from migraines and I feel so bad when he gets them. He recently just started suffering from them and his migraine last all day. I hope they don't get worse :(
I had a migrane in 6th grade in the middle of my major final test. It hurt so much I cried and I had to be escorted to the nurse's office to vomit and get a ride from my mom, who was 2hrs away.
I suffer from migraines, diagnosed. Not all migraines are like this. Mine are quite mild in comparison to other people’s, but ibuprofen usually works for mine. Yah there are some awful episodes but for migraines can vary in severity
I get daily headaches are usually don’t go away. It’s just part of chronically ill. Yes I’m not classified as a migraine but it hurts just like a migraine.
Maintain a migraine journal to find the food triggers . The guy I like has frequent headaches . I want to help him out so m here looking for migraine symptoms and triggers. And there's a channel for migraine I forgot its name but therethey said don't consume caffeine and lifestyle changes will help a lot. Start from eliminating food that triggers migraine
I’m a college student once in health class I had a severe migraine during the lesson I began to cry and felt nauseated I was in so much pain in my dorm room I lay down for an hour couldn’t even fall asleep it’s hurts that much I couldn’t stop vomiting unexpectedly in the bathroom and I felt like I was dying it’s was a terrible experience.😣
I have had headaches every day for the past 2 and a half years, and I take pills every day after I wake up to get rid of them or prevent them from happening(They are just normal headaches though)
One of the worst this is when You say you have migraine problem and others will say “me too” but they have no idea about the difference between headache and migraine 😤
I have terrible headaches though and I can’t even move my eyes unless someone tries talking to me and still I have a delayed reaction plus it feels like two red hot pokers being jabbed into my eyes and I start shaking
This will be long but just read lol. I get migraines probably 5-10 times in a year. I always get aura with mine that lasts for about 20-30 minutes before the actual migraine starts. Let me just say, it is the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life. I always end up vomiting when I get one. I lay in the dark and cry. I try to go to sleep so it will go away but it’s extremely difficult. Once I fall sort of asleep, when I wake up the migraine is gone, but my head is super sore for the next day. When I cough, or bend over or do anything that strains my head it hurts that one side of my head the migraine was on. Nobody truly understands the pain unless you really get one. I missed my junior prom night because as soon as I got there, my vision started going blurry which was the aura. I TRIED so hard to tough it out, but I couldn’t bare. I ended up in the school parking lot throwing up, and had to leave early. I was devastated. At one point in my life, around middle school, I was getting them very frequently. I would get them 1-2 times a week. It was TERRIBLE. One of the worst ones I got was when my whole body went numb, and I was throwing up, and the pain on that one side of my head was EXCRUCIATING (they are always excruciating tho). I ended up in the ER that night because the pain was so bad. They sent me to get a cat scan on my brain because I was getting them so frequently. Everything came back normal thankfully. Once in high school I didn’t get them near as much for some reason. For those of you that suffer with migraines, I feel you. I understand. And for those that don’t, be glad you don’t have to go through them. I have never had one that lasted more than 24 hours, so props to those that have to endure one for over 24 hours! No way I could endure the pain that long.
Once I had a migraine and I went to the nurse and came straight back after taking my medicine. When I come back, everyone is looking at me weird and it just makes me feel worse because I also have anxiety about people talking about me. So this guy that sits next to me (I don’t like him AT ALL) asked me why I left and came back so fast. I said u wouldn’t understand cause to people without migraines say “oh it’s just a headache” well no it’s not. So do some research about it
My classmate doesn't like wearing their glasses and described a migraine and a teacher told them that they were getting migraines and needed to wear their glasses
My migraine goes away when ever I get the chance to throw up. So usually I try to eat a few things to get my stomach to react then afterwards I feel free of my migraine
I feel like jumping off a bridge when I get my devastating migraines. I just want it to be over through the midst of pain, tears and screaming because I can no longer tolerate the pain. It’s beyond any pain that I know.
My mother gets migraines almost everyday. I’m getting them to. They hurt. My mother takes so many pills. I hope that one day I won’t have to take many pills.
This video is ntg compared to my migrane 💔💔💔💔!! Yes I have Migrane too n it's soooooooooooo painful 💔💔💔💔💔💔!! I feel like I wanna throw away my brain out of my head n my eyes too 💔
I suffer the same as jenny, can't leave my bed, pain killers don't work, light and sound are unbareable, but the difference is its not just one side of my head, it's all over, so I'm not convinced it's a migraine so I call it a headache but it sucks just as bad
I cant be in rooms with a lot of noise, I can't go on long car rides, I can't sit in hot rooms. I get sick and throw up 2-3 a day when they're bad, I take midol and it helps but whenever I forget to bring it somewhere it's horrible.
I get migraines 2-3x a day! Horrible life... I had it because of a stressful even that happened a year ago, it’s just because of 9 hours traveling and after that i had a headache for a week and it never go away, i went to a neurologist and I was diagnosed of migraine and muscle tension. I have to take sleeping pills every night to just sleep because of so much pain in my head.
I'd if what I'm having right now is a migraine but tell. the light I see is abnormally bright and my head is dieing of pain. I have never had a migraine and I am in the 6th grade. it has been lasting for 7 hours. I feel all around my head not just the right side
I have migraines i had to skip school for a week because of my migraines and the doctors think i had a seizure my mother has epelepsy and im scared i might have it to
