I looked up the live version of this song because I thought that there was no way he could hit those high notes live while sounding good. Definitely proved me wrong. Incredible performer.
+Hannah Christian He's for sure got talent, key to a good live or studio track is running high end compressors to help him sound better, that and the effects he has on his voice help to cover any minor mistakes.
The first time I heard the full song, it was live. Yes, it was pretty impressive. He was also playing the piano which was cool. If after all this time, you're curious search Mika Hootenanny, which (in case you're not from these shores) is a new year's eve music show here in the UK.
His videos have millions of views...hes not underrated. There are exceptional groups who have an average of 3-5k views on their vids. That is underrated. Mika is incredible, but he's far from underrated. Hes as mainstream as they come.
@@anabravo9 yes, unfortunatelly. He said that on an interview in Mexico i think in 2012 or 2013. That was probably the time when Queen was looking for a new singer and eventually adam appeared.
@@thingamobbaber He is a great singer no doubt, but try to play the studio version with this version. You pretty much won't hear two songs playing. This isn't really AS live as the title suggests.
i laugh when people say this, its like they don't pay attention at all. he says "so I tried a little Freddie" in the song which is a reference to people saying he sounds like Freddie Mercury lol
Eric D. I interpreted it more as a personality switch with him using people as examples because he wants to fit in with the person he's trying to get to like him so he will shift his personality towards their interests in order to function in a relationship however because mood swings occur which make all these mechanisms fail you have this paranoid that someone is going to abandon you so tell them to walk out the door don't come back because I don't trust that you're still going to be here at the end of the day that's how I interpreted it because it represents in my opinion it represents mood swings as well as the constant why don't you like me I don't even like myself should I look older just to be put on your shelf a lot of this comes with idolisation as well when you really want to be liked by someone because you idolise them so much then the next minute you're angry and pushing them away and it's basically like a tsunami the water goes out too far the wave comes crashing too hard and especially when disassociation takes place and you begin to feel empty the best example I can use as borderline personality disorder I interpret it like this because I think on that same level and believe the song is basically my life in a nutshell the only thing that really isn't mentioned is the extreme and explosive anger but it's referenced with the walk out the door but only minor in comparison with the other emotions sorry for poor wording I'm using voice app because phone is broken
It's clear its harder for him to hit those notes due to aging however he still manages to hit them flawlessly any time he does it... such an amazing artist
I absolutely love his energy in this performance, and this is probably the most flawless live version of Grace Kelly I have heard so far. And his drummer is so awesome, I love her
I had to compare this live recording with the recorded one to make sure he was really singing, because I thought there was no way it could be this perfect. It is so hard to believe that someone could have this level of pitch and mic presence, but I actually think this is legit, which boggles my mind. He is truly incredible in every sense of the word. Let's not wait until it is 20 years later to appreciate this guy, like we do with so many artists who deserve appreciation while they are in the present. This guy is something else.
I think he was holding some power back at that time but he worked with that and also with talking about his private life and just being himself when he sings helped him release all this power :)
I completely agree, I do not completely understand why they had Adam on the tribute tour when they had someone with a voice as identical to Freddie's as his.
sorry guys, i saw queen + adam lambert live and he is great, of course not great as freddie. but really? Who except someone would do it better than freddie? please guys, respect Adam!
@@Chris-lp5kw Idk about the others but BTS definitely has happy songs too (Second Grade, Look at Me, Blanket Kick, Converse High, etc. Lots of them). In any way, darker songs are more popular because they're relatable. It isn't made to depress people, it's made to help people that are already depressed. For BTS' example, the best example I can give is listen to Save Me then I'm Fine which was released years later. It shows progression and healing, which they want listeners to also experience. People are learning not to search for distractions but for answers and to look at themselves critically to grow and become healthy mentally
@Olivia Haynes Yes, but Olvia, how long it's been since he had a #1 song? What people who ask "How come he's not more famous?" mean is, WTF is he nos AS famous AS, say, Ed Sheran or Sam Smith? You know...?
I’ve known this song for a while now I guess. Idk since when but it’s 2nd December 2021 rn and I’m listening to this on a daily basis now. I’ve known Mika since 2014 when I listened to Popular Song. This is so underrated!!
Tu es un super gars tu fais ce que tu veux avec ta voie je n'ai pas de chanson préférée je les aiment toutes j'aimerais une réponse de tous les fans qui pensent comme moi n'est ce pas qu' il est le meilleur notre mika
