Why do Saori Hayami characters frequently have a dumb gorilla friend named Mika?
Mika's supreme lack of equivalent lines for her normals is made up for with her 236X that has 6 different sets of lines out of the 8 possible directions you can direct her. That and her command normal lines + IC move lines are entirely intact. There's definitely something with the inflection going on that I think 1 does better. Just listen to those super line deliveries again or her jAA line. Rightfully, Mika has a couple new lines for her j623X and her two new moves. She also screams "YES!" when she times her 360 grab right.
Not much to say about Mika as a character. The UNIEL Console Duo and the Arcade UNIST Duo don't really provide much to the context of the story and if Nanase and Phonon can be called joke characters in the narrative, Mika is twice that. At least Nanase and Phonon show off how really regular people react to getting superpowers.
I blame Guilty Gear Xrd's sound mixing where everyone sounds like they're echoing that I never truly recognized Aya Suzaki's performance as Elphelt being discernible in Mika's own voice lines. It only took me until Strive to put the pieces together and I feel dumb for not hearing it sooner.
