Mike Austin's 'Golf Is Mental Imagery' was like his version of 'Golf for Dummies'. Here you will learn the fundamentals of a great power swing in a very simple way.
He doesn't talk about muscles and joints or actions, just keeps it so that that everyday layman can understand.
It's the same approach I take in my complete online video course to teach you how to develop a great power swing:

This Man was so ahead of his Time !!! Steve thanks so much for preserving and sharing such impactful and meaningful content. In my opinion Mike Austin was truly the greatest to ever explain the Golf Swing !!!

Unfortunately golf instructors seem to have written him off years ago because they misunderstood it, but it might work for some players. I was told forward pressing was a bad idea, but the instructor told me it was just the handle moving forward - nothing about the whole body moving at the same time. So far I'm into this about 1 week and found it to be easier on the body, faster swing speed, and more consistent smash. Need to work on my balance a little more because this is a fluid body motion that generates higher ground reaction forces than in the past. Wish I had seen this several years ago. Hidden gem.

Thanks for having this stuff Steve... sometimes I get overly focused on the other stuff and it is always good to go back to the basics and double check that I have not screwed something else up in my quest to get the ball longer and straighter - this is a classic

What a great explanation! I've yet to have seen such detail in the grip. That was great. I'm going to have to look for his videos on DVD. Thank you very much for sharing this great man's insight. He's still living because of your contributions.

Steve I feel like my hands are too small and I can’t really grab the club in that manner with my right hand seems like I can’t get a good grip on the club. Any suggestions

Try a ten finger grip. Basically a baseball grip.

Where's that accent from? Sounds like Texan at first but then goes into what sounds like a Scottish accent. At about 4:50, he sounds Spanish "Abouta thertee degreees." What's going on?
@Inmotion70
@Inmotion70 2 года назад
It's a manufactured Scottish Brogue. Mike was born in Alabama and raised in Atlanta.

Believe he was born in Sweden but spent most his life in USA. Thus, what you hear are remnants of his youth language.
