What a great interview. Hearing old stories was a TRIP down memory lane... There was no band in Tampa like Morbid Angel. They were miles beyond all the other local metal bands, and there were some good ones as Mike mentioned, and the demise the trinity of Dallas, Trey and Mike, and then the schism between Trey and Mike ended an era as far as being the neighborhood band that was better than all the major league bands that were coming out of Europe and California. Mike did get screwed over in a dirty 'business' deal and Morbid Angel after he left, while being a great band... was not the same band we had in Tampa. That said, Mike has made, and continues to create incredible music that may never have been made otherwise with a unique sounding band and lyrical content that explores a direction of apocalyptical sci fi metal that rises right out of the primordial chaos of the Ancient Ones. For people that discovered MA on CD's and records etc, that is their Morbid Angel and that MA is a great band. For me and many people who were there in the early days, Morbid Angel is the band that played on the mountain in McFarland park, at parties around Tampa Bay area, and of course at Rocky Point Beach Resort. The people who got to see them shows were the luckiest people in the world. Thanks Mike. You helped me remember what I never really forgot.

2:05 all great old school bands started out playing covers. And Reason why newer bands suck, theyre too cool for that. Imitation, inspiration is the starting point of all originality, something trendy wannabes will never understand. Incubus Nocturnus annihilates them all
