I can imagine Tom Petty up on a big cloud lookin down at Mike with a big smile on his face!!! Mike Campbell is the healing bandage on a huge wound!! Thank you Mike Campbell! May all your knobs be dirty from here on out!!
God bless Mike Cambell!!! God bless Tom Petty and God bless the Heartbreakers!! A complete body of music will go on for years!!!! Rock on Dirty Knobs!!!
It's a whole lot of Petty, a splash of Dylan and a snippet of Morrison, and my lord what an amazing slice of brilliance.....Track of the year bar none, just bought the album on vinyl and can't wait to hear it when it arrives....Just stunning...Bravo.
Love Mike, but Unfortunately more than a snip of Morrison here. This IS Friday's Child by Them. Copyright infringement for sure if they motioned. It probably wasn't intentional because it is too similar. Probably, the tune was just in his head and couldn't place it.
I know it's been hard on all the Heartbreakers and we fans-(I'm blessed to have grown up with these guys in Gainesville Florida) and for each one to try and find their "own voice" and yet Tommy's still slips though.....yet I know he's proud of each one, especially Mike and Benmont! R.I.P. my friend and rock on with God and His Angel's along with Roy, George, Bo, Johnny Cash and other's that went before you and after you and I'll see you and your beautiful Mother in Heaven on day. Mike I know Tommy missed the birth of your granddaughter born after he left us, but I know he's proud of all of you! Keep rocking on Mike and I'll see you and The Dirty Knobs in Gainesville, hoping soon, but when it's safe! Thank you for keeping the music going and on my personal opinion, YOU ARE THE BEST ROCK N ROLL GUITARIST EVER!!! Love and miss you and your beautiful family!🎸🎤🎶😘🐊 (Maybe Benmont will come with his family, as I'd love to meet his wife and his daughter named after his precious Mother.😉) It would be great for us to walk downtown after Tom and The Heartbreakers played here in Gainesville in 2006! Brought back some great memories😁😘🐊
Well said... On a side note, heard the interview and read the book, enjoyed them very much. It's beyond fulfilling when you can do what you absolutely love and end up forming lifelong friendships along the way.....maybe that's the true meaning of life!! Thanks to you for your perseverance, as we all got to benefit for many years because of it. Blessings and peace to you....✌❤
I love this performance! It was “fantastical “! Beautiful video, great looking band and the sound was beautiful, Mike’s voice was beautiful . There are certain songs that he sings where his voice is as good as any artist out there. He’s got a great style and it’s all him. It’s intriguing to me because he wouldn’t even sing the back up vocals ...🤔. Tom Petty 🧚🏻♂️was such a force with his own talent and here you have Mike Campbell who is proving to be quite a force in his own musical right but he always was a strong force with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers with his own unbelievable sound . Very inspiring..power to the Dirty Knobs ! 🥰🌻✌️
I feel happy and sad watching this video. The artwork is so creative. Hearing this song makes me think of Tom Petty, but Mike Campbell is certainly capable of writing fantastic songs. Thank you.
Thank you for this song, Mike, well done, our longtime friend! It’s so beautiful and I especially love the guitar strumming and harmonica ❤️🎶🎸 and also the special “leather and lace” nod to the wonderful Ms Stevie Nicks ❤️
Awesome song Mike, thanks to Van Morrison who recorded it whit his band THEM in 1967. In those days it was called "Friday's child". Neverthless i think you did a great job. The vibe feels slightly stronger than the original.
I know what you mean about how it makes you feel. I was thinking it’s another Mike Campbell song that finally came home to my heart, where it belongs only Tom and Mike put words to the music my heart feels.
Thanks Mike for the continued light. When the world lost Mr. Petty, I thought we might lose you boys too. Because. Well. Just how DO you go forward. Am thrived to see and hear this. Fills up. our souls.
I've listened to 3 other songs and said I'd like to get that CD. I heard this song and I ordered it. Such a beautiful, haunting song. It feels like it's been with me my entire life. Thank you for putting it out so I could finally hear it
So looking forward to seeing Mike along with the great Lucinda Williams this month. Gonna take a bit of getting used to seeing the "co-captain" of the HB without TP. But Mike is and always has been one of rock's truly great guitarists
I've had to loop this thing for 2 hours, amazing work Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs!!!! Its a make you feel good song...upbeat...perfect blend of folk and rock..wow...LOVE LOVE LOVE...The fact that me is 80 percent English Irish, is causing some stirring in me bones.......love it..
This is a great tune. You know the Knobs have their own sound and feel, yet it wreaks of Tom’s style and sound, Mike has and will always have that twang of TP in his soul and his music will reflect that ! Which isn’t a bad thing !!!
Brilliance through and through....Thankyou for using your gifts to activiate our ears, minds, our imagination through the amazing words & sounds created - oh the magic of music.
Just watched the Gibson video which took me here. Great tune! I can imagine sitting in a pub somewhere listing to this song getting lost in the music. Keeping it moving forward with Mike and his mates.
I just can't help thinking n talking about Tom. He was no doubt a leader of the group. The dirty knobs is kinda new to me but I must say that Mike sings as awesome as his instruments talent
When you stood up off that stool Mr Campbell, I hope you cut them puppet strings...set the guitar down easy, took off your hat and gave yourself a long pat on the back! Damn good song my man! Wow! 🔥
OMG.. Incredibly good. I hope this song gets its just recognition! This is song of the year material - sure would’ve been during the era of when music really rocked.
It will be nice to hear this song live. Bring the band up the road to Bakersfield for a live perforamance. We'd be happy to be your test city, once the pandemic wraps up this spring.
Love you MIKEY...youll never know how much youve help me thru my hardtime .....thanks for being amazing bro .....may live forever!!! ROCK ON...R.I.P T.P. LONG LIVE THE HEARTBREAKERS
