This was Fall, Helsinki, Finland 2005, "End of an Era" Tour concert. Beautiful venue. I was 18 then, I'm now 37. This was the last time we heard the Siren, the Viking, the Pirate, the Vampire & the Zombie all perform together. I'll never forget it... Thanks for sporting this reaction video!!! Cheers from Portland, OR! 😎🍻
This was the last show for Tarja Turunen (1997-2005) and that's why you found so many fans crying during the concert. Good memories but unfortunately they will never come back :(
Seeing and hearing them together here it is hard to believe what was going to happen so soon after this show. Next to watch in order to experienceMarcos incredible talent: The Pink Floyd cover „High Hopes“
Did you notice the young woman in the audience having an eargasm & rolling her eyes in ecstasy? Although Tarja sounds great, it's really Marko who makes the song unique & powerful. He will be missed by the Nightwish army of fans.
I feel like Marco is straining his voice on several sections, to be honest. But quite impressive still considering he is playing an instrument at the same time.
@@FemaleMetalLover That could be, although all those vocal coaches & professional singers, who have also reacted to this performance, haven't said anything like that. However, he was really sick during this show.
Speak for yourself. It looks to be like those girls are having an eargasm as soon as Tarja starts singing at the beginning… You may enjoy Marco more, and that’s your right, but don’t say that as if it is fact that he’s the one who makes the performance what it is. Everyone has their tastes. There’s a reason the phrase “in my opinion“ exists.
I really like this version, and also the variant that Floor did on Beste Zangers. Two different approaches, but both are magical. Thank you for reacting to this.
I'm in a sort of unusual place in the Nightwish fandom. I first heard them in 2008, so my first exposure was to Tarja. Then, suddenly Anette was there, on the first album I actually bought. And then came Floor, and the paradigm shifted once again.. This helps me (I think) not to engage in all of the "which singer's Nightwish is better" controversy. I don't even think about it, because regardless of who's singing . . . it's ALL Tuomas' Nightwish ! ! ! (MAKE AMERICA NIGHTWISH)
You really got me confused with the "Sing to Me" on the thumbnail, because it is the title of a Delain song featuring Marko on vocals. Marko has surprised a few opera singers and vocal coaches in the role of The Phantom, going as high as G5.
This is from the very the last concert Tarja ever song. She got the open letter the very same evening and the whole band on the stage except Tarja knew she's getting fired. You can see it on their faces.
I have never seen the ALW's musical in its entirety, but after reading (a Finnish translation of) the novel by Leroux I think this is a pretty great take on the character of the Phantom. This is, after all, the 'hit' duetto in the musical, so a lot of the dynamics between the central characters ought to be conveyed here. Would be fun to see some daring producer cast Marco for the role for the entire work...
@@tragicx4075 The drummer is their manager now. He quit because he suffered insomnia. Nightwish used to do over 100 days lasting tours. So it's not healthy to you when you tour, play during the evening time and then barely if not at all sleep.
Marco is the man, have said before, if could have his babies, I would, haha. I’m a guy, no not gay, but if I were I woman, I’d try to be all over him, he is epic. Also, Andrew Lloyd Webber said this is his favorite of the covers. Definitely agree, they just do what no one else can or dares to do, and they are the best.
Great reaction as always my friends. One of my face reactors. Try with no research reacting to Melody Cristea of Liliac (Lil-EEE-acK) - original songs "Nothing" or "Mars"
"At least"? :) Floor is incredible... She's a badass metal singer and a perfect fit for Nightwish, although... she used her operatic vocals more in After Forever. But still, she's amazing. I love Tarja and I love Floor. They are different, yet similar. Both perfect singers for me. Plus, Simone Simons, I can't live without her beautiful voice :]
@@cancelled_user Love Floor but I am an old Nightwish fan, so Tarja is my first love. And you know what they say. An other thing. In the origin Nightwish was an accustic band and they change to metal because of Tarja.
@@pepeteperez7142 Yeah, I'm an old fan too, but.. I wasn't such a big fan 15 years ago. My love of Nightwish was somehow reignited in the last 1-2 years :) But it doesn't matter. I still love Tarja and Floor. Tarja is more likely to bring me to tears with her voice and Floor is more likely to make me wanna rock :) I love these metal ladies.
Wooowwww, I hadn't heard this until just now (thanks for the reaction!) GORGEOUS. It's so great to hear just Simone showcased! Sidebar - Mike, bruh, you have your hands full dude...that's one spicy ginger Ginger!!! Caught a few of her comments now, and I'm like "Whoa, did she just go there?!?!?" 😉😂 (Edit) Dang, I posted this accidentally to the Nightwish Phantom reaction, not your Epica "River" reaction. I watched them both back-to-back, and guess a brain fart set in. LOL
Well, although i'm a patriotic Finn, i'm very biased for Floor. She's my eternal queen (💗👸). Still this particular performance is the main reason why i'm hanging here with all of you wonderful Nightwish folks. I knew the "Phantom" already and knew that Tarja can do the "Christine" all right. But who is going to do the "Eric" (the Phantom). And then Marko stood out with an excellent performance. He is the real hero there. And after this show (End of an Era) they sacked Tarja (and Marko as a main conspirator) and now he is resigned too. How they can cope with all that? But anyway, Floor's and Henk's version is a must see for everybody on this planet. ⛄👍
This song is a mandatory per-requisite for every Nightwish fan worth their salt (or Nightwish reactor for that matter). When Tarjia parted ways, a big piece of Nightwish's identity went with her. We, the Nightwish Old guard (pun intended), entered Anette's purgatory and delved in obscurity and identity crisis until Floor came and re-casted the spell. Then Juuka stepped down but thankfully named Kai as his successor, so the Nightwish boat rocked a bit but kept going steady. Now Marko is gone but I am afraid this maybe too much for Nightwish and the Army. This song always brings back the days when Nightwish was in their "first prime". I got me again just like it has done hundreds of time before.
I would have liked to see Vortex(Dimmu Borgir) in the band. Also scandinavian, great bass player and he's got an amazing voice too. but indeed, there's no an other Marco.
Hello from Finland the land of the Nightwish... Tarja the original lead singer was the best... Anette was a disaster... Floor is ok but not fully classically trained like Tarja.. and you hear that pretty easily...
Hi GM (had to do that sometime, innit?), Although I really like this version, I prefer the Floor / Henk Poort on BZ 2019 version myself. BTW, I do not believe you did this as a request, you guys just wanted to lure me here again, even though I am busy ;). Oh, and Ginger, your dress, that is casual? Wow! You don't want to see me casual in that case .... It does fit unbelievably wel with the poppy painting too :). As always, lovely interaction and reaction. Love you guys! Warmest regards, Wim P.S.: As to Lara Fabian, you really need to react to "Je suis malade". Considering she is Canadian, although Belgian by descent, and her style generally is very operatic, you cannot talk yourself out of this one at all :). Best to react to this incredibly stunning and emotional version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dVvlmpo5g9k.html P.s.2: Still waiting for TPATP too .... Try this one: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iEzZRMthhXU.html Good quality, with lyrics, and indicates teh start of a new chaper or movement :).
Hey, Wim! No tricks. Promise 😁 We did Je Suis Malade a while ago, but our lighthearted humour did not go over well with her fans. I took the video down because I got tired of all the insulting comments. We will do another of hers in future, but we’ll have to be more careful, I guess. - G
@@MikeandGinger If you did it already, no problem to not do it again, actually, and I know you are not playing tricks, just teasing you and Mike :). And I know you know this . Love, warmest regards, Wim
@@Rosannasfriend floor didngt sing this with nightwish bud her v oice has more emotion and she would have sang this with henk and nightwish in amsterdam
@@MrWo-qj2yh not sure about "her voice has more emotion" i heard many people say Tarja singing has no emotion and yet there are still no any songs by Floor makes me cry like Tarja
