Inca Roads is one of my favourite songs and, now that Dweezil plays it nearly every gig, I get the opportunity to see it performed by top flight musicians. I saw Mike play an amazing solo acoustic version 10 years ago (I will upload a video soon) and it would have been great to see the Mike Keneally Band play Inca Roads. It would also have been great to see them play the theme to Scooby Doo but it is EVEN GREATER to hear the band Mike Keneally songs - no one else plays these! So yes, I agree.
I saw Mike perform with Zappa once, and then had the pleasure of meeting him at a NAMM show in the mid 90s. He was a kind wonderful person to talk with, and I will always be a fan!!
I saw them the night before in Cardiff. I still can't believe that I saw them. I really appreciate your time for filming and posting this. Thank also to the band for allowing people to feel so free with their cameras.
Truly amazing and blowing the minds of new and faithful fans daily,,, I had the extreme pleasure to work with this phenomenal, beastly genius two wonderful, life changing experiences when Mike performed with the superstar dream band " Sunken City" that was conceived by fellow Grammy winner Joe Puerta (Ambrosia, Bruce Hornsby) and embodied the talents of fellow Grammy winner David Lewis (Shadowfax, Ambrosia), Brian Asher, Eddie Callan, Jason Harrison Smith (Beer For Dolphins), and Ambrose "Buck" Splecia...
A fantastic share. A very unique one is Hummmmmm. Awesome sounds that comes forth from each musician. Something just grabs you with this particular one. :-)) Each a master of his instrument and really shows the blending but individual parts in all their glory. Yes truly magnificent.:-))) Like a great intense conversation between each instrument.:-))) Oh Yeah!
I recorded the sound separately with cardiod mics aimed at the PA above my head and then dubbed the sound on to the video. Mind you the orginal sound on the video is not too shabby, so I guess I was in a sweet spot.
I agree, its just rude to shout out songs that haven't been rehearsed, but even more so if it is a cover. It makes it sound like you're just there to hear them play someone else's song and not appreciating all the artist brings to the table.
Just started video and I hear someone shout "Inca Roads". I am one of the "worst" zappa fans I've ever met and just want to say: LEAVE IT OFF! Stop throwing FZ's shadow over people who played with him decades ago!
