"Should I passively accept the dominant cultures values or should I look outside the culture to the grand scale context of the history of ideas for something better?" I cannot stress enough how important it is for us all to ask ourselves this question in the times we live in now. The man may be gone, but as long as there remain free-thinking people willing to push their individual will to the limits of their physical and mental potential, the spirit of this man will certainly live on. Thank you John 🙏
Wow, a cogent introductory course to philosophy from a guy who could crush a human head like a coconut. This is great material even if it would've come from an egghead in a labcoat.
Precisely why I eat a carnivore diet, do the consolidated routine, live a debt free lifestyle, and study objectivism. The complete opposite of what THEY want you to be, a free thinker, and staying out of the belly of the beast. They want you to be plant based, so go carnivore. They want you to carry debt, so be debt free and invest what you would have spent in financial debt. They want you to buy all these supplements and work out 3 to 7 days a week with all these different machines, so do the consolidated routine at the house. Dont need supplements if eating a carnivore diet. They want you to live by your emotions, so live objectively.
All of your behaviors, your core beliefs and ideology - are just a reaction to what you think the mainstream dictates to you. Living in a rigid construct like that, with no opportunity for nuance and integration is a solitary prison of your own design.
“The Conformist declares: ‘I believe it because others believe it.’ The Non-Conformist, just as irrational, says: ‘I don’t believe it because others do.’ That rare third person, the individualist, declares: ‘I believe it because I can see the reasons it’s true.’” - Mike Mentzer
carnivore's just veganism for the right, it's a completely idiotic and irrational reaction to the other extreme of eating only veggies. It's like voting for the other guy despite generations of proof that voting hasn't worked since the 1940s
