do you suggest not pre exhausting for leg extensions into squats?
@KagenoMyth
@KagenoMyth 22 часа назад
I would think that if your doing multiple exercise for legs then yes, cause squats is going to be the major stimulus of leg growth especially in the quads. You could just get away with doing squats only for legs, with a good weight to failure.
@Bl4zik3n
@Bl4zik3n День назад
indirect effect of exercise worked to a degree for me until it began interfering with my intensity of effort, once i adjusted for the intensity of effort by splitting up the most demanding exercises and spreading out the volume (only so that i can enter into an exercise give it my all and recover right away) so yes arthur is correct the entire body grows as a unit. but the more volume say after a set of squats to failure, the more you dig yourself into a hole. so i have found it best for me to go into the recovery hole and get out of it quick as possible.

I had to stop the video because of your comment. BROTHER, it takes me 3 weeks to get back on track, I am doing the consolidation routine (dip & DL + pull down & squats) I have to add that I have a ectomorph type of body, also, I am getting the best results of my life to the point where I am getting stretched marks. My question is, can this be improved or be somehow corrected?
@Bl4zik3n
@Bl4zik3n 22 часа назад
@@DanielRodriguez-fn1jn the way to imrpove it is by doing what works and keep doing it until it stops working then readjust by adding rest days and/or cutting volume and you want to add rest days before you cut volume or at least that would be the smart way to go about it as less liklihood of physique gaps. One thing i would suggest is having skull crushers in there, the triceps longhead seems to lag in the consolidation program. Triceps don't really overtrain so it shouldn't be an issue. not all bodyparts are built equally as some tend to overtrain quick like the hamstrings. so you want to improve? do negative only pulldowns/ chin ups. eliminating the positive portion entirely. This is helpful because if you can achieve a negative failure than you'll know that you didn't short yourself. negative failure ensures positive failure, go ahead try it hit negative failure and then try a positive rep you won't be able to. however when you're doing positive failure you might quit too early or cheat yourself out of the highest intensity of effort. Not only this, but this is a very good reason for why i train negative only. Besides the validity of it pointed out by Arthur Jones, and even though there are reports now of it being not as productive as claimed to be, i know one thing for sure is that if i cannot perform a negative rep then i definitely have hit positive failure and that's the trigger for muscle growth so im good to go and recover!

Is there a way to tell if your retaining water or your body is storing fat? I’m eating around 1100 calories a day, and I’m full. Mostly protein. And drink a lot of water well for me anyway about 2 litres. And In a week I’ve put on 9lbs. Been working out too with mostly my body weight and jogging. And if it’s retaining water how do I stop that? Or storing fat how do I stop that?
@jimaldo7715
@jimaldo7715 День назад
9lbs/week = fat (+ water, maybe) Get your diet in check, then proceed. Weight gain, with a proper diet, should be nearly imperceptible in the short term.
@DuncanL7979
@DuncanL7979 День назад
It's not possible to gain fat on a caloric deficit. Perhaps you were very dehydrated when you first weighed yourself.
@brianhinkle2991
@brianhinkle2991 День назад
Yep, no way you'd gain 9 lbs of anything on 1100 calories a day of any kind of food. I'd say yes, you're gaining water weight.
@JaydizzleYT
@JaydizzleYT День назад
How old are you and how much do you weigh? You can’t get a definitive answer (or damn near it) without more details on your case. Because 1,100 calories would seem really low in some eyes and average for others. Every person is different so you would have to provide more of a description of you, as in the questions above.
@DuncanL7979
@DuncanL7979 День назад
@@JaydizzleYT ignore this guy. 1100 calories isn't a fat storing surplus for any weight training adult on Earth. There's 3500 calories in one pound of stored body fat, whether you're Andre the Giant or Mini Me.

Mike has been my inspiration and trainer since the 6th grade (and I'm 59 now), although I never physically met him. During my high school years (1980-1983), I began his Heavy Duty training program and got the most phenominal results, all steroid-free. I competed in bodybuilding contests from 1982 to 1993, but never earned my pro card. I did well, but not well enough to win (but I always placed in the top 5). Possibly due to being steroid-free, or maybe it was just genetics? To address Mike's comments regarding the pump... I agree with him 100%, as I also do about his commets about muscle soreness. However, with that being said, I must admit that I enjoy both, the pump and the soreness. Perhaps he's right? Maybe I'm addicted? But even if they aren't connected with growth, that's alright. They have kept me coming back to the gym, year after year, decade after decade. Of course, at 59, I'm not about to win any bodybuilding championships, however I do get a lot of compliments saying that I look to be in my late 30s rather than late 50s. So I'll take it as a good thing. He died way too early and I was never able to thank him for all he did for me. He was the older brother that I always wanted but never had.
