Wow, that voice! Never heard Reilly live before. Mike Oldfield definitely picked the right woman for this song. All the other versions/singers can not come close to Maggie Reilly's version of Moonlight Shadow. MS was the favorite song of my sister - and as such it is a special song to me too :-).
Proves beyond all doubt that both Mike and Maggie "can do it live" How many can really do it with just a guitar and a mike, and make it sound like the record that we all bought?no synth,no mixing,no bull, just pure talent, from both of them.
That's how u sing , That's how u do it Look how relaxed she is & how effortlessly that angelic pitch perfect voice comes over the mic : ) LEGEND !!!!!!
love this song WHEN its maggie reilly singing, everyone else thats given it an attempt have failed extroardinary, they arent even close to her greatness
I got turned on to Mike in 85 while stationed in (then) west germany, Get to France and this song just took me. Most I know just don't get it, so it's 'private' joy I just keep to myself. thanks for posting :)
beautiful. it still has the melody from the instrumental part, along with the harmony, and that simple stacatto ending before the last chorus is a nice touch. maggie reilly had (has?) a beautiful voice.
Oh Maggie really got the voice of an angel and i love how always Mike Oldfield looks so mysterius while playing like you really wanna know whats on his mind. Such a genius
Mike Oldfield is the reason Richard Branson is so fucking wealthy (and vice versa). The two blokes collaborated together (a small little music company called Virgin signed him up) to produce Tubular Bells. Mike is a fucking genius, he discovered how to record multiple tracks onto casette tape, he truly moulded modern music.
