I remember listening to Incantations part 3 when I was a young lad. Having my soul blasted apart from the guitar playing. I was in ecstasy. I'll love Oldfield forever. If you read this and haven't listened to Amarok, do. Several times. Over 100 times.
I wish this song in remembrance of my father. It was, and is his signature track. Family and friends know him of this song. Alexander William Donald March59 to October09 Dad, I miss you. F
Aaah incredible. I was a merchant ship officer in the late 1970s and my ship was in Svendborg, Denmark. After dancing at Kloster Moster we went and made love to this music -- the first time I ever heard it. Memories and beautiful music....
Nearly finished reading his autobiography, first book I've read for about 20 years, it's great, have total empathy for him, know exactly where he's coming from. Linda
As usual, with Mike Oldfield, ALL the musicians are EXCELLENT... (~_*) smiles in the mix from Melody Fo d(*_*)b (aka the Princess of Rock) Love Peace Music
Amazing piece of footage. There's an element of the original tortured youngster here which is completely fascinating. And the African drum action near the beginning's pretty cool too.
Mindestens in Deutschland, seit ewig nicht mehr gesehen auf die Plakate! Schreib mal an die Fernsehen, die spielen so gut wie keine "alte musik" mehr!!
This used to be one of my late brothers favorite pieces. When ever I am thinking of him I like to play this video. Too bad they didn't have the video when he was around.
I have loved and enjoyed this song since it first came out....But I must say, in this performance, I was blown away by the skilz of the bass guitarist....Loved it! Thanks whobear...You made my day!
i think its absolutely amazing how people create music from this perspective and then its recreated for an fan base that is there to listen even though its ideally no more than an score.
Fantastic crescendos to both parts in my opinion, one thing that still boggles me is that this guy is able to play up to 16 different instruments in both compositions. I adore part 1 more than the second.
this is so awesome!!! i remembered my dad listened to it, that was ten years ago, but the sound burnd into my ears... when i hear that now i can remember everey day we drove in his car and listened that music!! Thank YOu for upload
@bigfra79 I love this piece of music as well! I think it is awsome that you dedicate it to someone near and dear! May your dad rest in piece! What a wondeful way to remember him! :-)
If it wasn't for this man's true genius, Richard Branson would never have had the opportunity to employ somebody to say "Virgin Trains regret to announce..." about five thousand times a year.
First time I heard of his name was 12 years ago, only to find out I've heard dozens of his songs since i was little kid, just didn't know it was him who played them. Epic composer.
Thx BG. I was starting to think I was crazy. And this is a very good version for it's "most awesome guitarplaying". I may be dating myself but the first time I heard this album was like 76 maybe 77. thx again.
