@@alq2630 Even then the basic concept of boxing is to hit without getting hit. It’s the Sweet Science not the savage science. You’re supposed to float like a butterfly sting and sting like a bee. All of these concepts are main stream as hell and they couldn’t even apply one of them against the weakest enemy in the game🤣

Indeed, although the game is insanely difficult to beat, it starts out with Glass Joe which was designed to be utterly destroyed by an average person. It's basically a tutorial level tailored to teach you how to play the game without posing any danger. Now I'm not expecting them to ace the game but losing to Glass Joe is a huge embarrassment. I beat Piston Honda on my first try on this game when I was 10 years old. Shocking how crap these teenagers are. So shocking that I'm doubting them for having intentionally lost the match just to bait comments from retrogamers like me. If thats their plan, then it is surely working for them and that makes them the most annoying and lame (yet clever ) teenagers ever :D.

No one ever touched the manuals. God there are two command buttons and four directional buttons. There were no controls to worry about. This is the tutorial level as someone above me explained, and it was designed to pretty much not be possible to lose at.

It is kind of sad. I mean the guys even light up or dance around to show you when they're about to attack, and they can't even press the left or right button to dodge. I can understand having trouble on Mike, but Glass Joe? Seriously? At its core this is about as simple as a game can be. It's only timing and reflexes, which teenagers are supposed to have in spades. This isn't one of those unfair games like Contra, it's just a decently difficult game that a competent 5 year old can beat. Once you learn all the fights it's actually pretty easy.

Games back then were MUCH harder. Beating a game was an actual accomplishment. Gamers nowadays don't know what a tough game is anymore. I can't think of a single modern popular game that can compare to what old games used to be like.

I played this game when it first came out. I was 8. I still didn't do as bad as these kids. That's the troubling part. However, games today hold your hand so kids don't get their feelings hurt by losing so much. When I beat Tyson, or any Nintendo game, it was a big deal. LoL Those games only had God Mode. No saves. No save points. Nothing. At least Nintendo games had an ending. Try some Odyssee or Atari games. No end in sight. LoL

He's also the only one that I saw to even dodge a Tyson punch, and he did it twice. Of course, that's why he was the only one to land a punch, but the rest of the kids didn't even accomplish that first step.

This game is one of my all-time favorites. Beating it takes practice, timing, and pattern recognition. Tyson is one of the toughest bosses ever and that's why this game is legendary.

This, please. The only way I was able to beat it FINALLY was by going to a beercade where I just had to buy drinks. Credits for the arcade version were free so I gave myself like 70 and went with it.

You could just get a wii, they have shittons of retro games from different consoles on the Wii Shop. If you get actual old consoles, they're not only hard to find, but you also have to pay for adapters since the cords aren't compatible with newer TV's, and games are only available on eBay for outrageous prices or at vintage game stores for copies that are worn out or barely work.

Some will tell you that you can get emulators, and other consoles that will play the games, but, I tell you: It's not the same. Even the roughness of a NES controller adds some difficulty to the task (and pain). For the Genesis, I recomend you biohazzard battle, and aleste. Fast and really difficult shooters. Sharp your mind, don't let the failures take the fun out of the game. The more used to face hard-no-evident-rewarding things you get, the easiest you'll find the ephemeral rewards of life.
