He really didn't fight anyone that was super. Didn't beat larry holmes in prime, George foreman, Sunny liston and the list goes on Of course Ali. Lennox Lewis. Tyson at his best was a top 10 Hall Of Fame. Combination of power and speed. He was GREAT!!!! But not unbeatable.
noone learn peekaboo style anymore. no real commitment on highest lvl. we need coach like cus damato so he can one day find a brilliant boy to fill him with this wisdom/.
Both of them are great boxers. Berbick tried to fight until the last moment as he could. He fell several times and he stood up again. He had good sportsmanship. RIP, Berbick. 🙏
He wasn't scared, he fought with courage and heart. His only shot was what he tried to do here: back Tyson up. He just couldn't deal with the speed and power of Tyson's hooks getting around his high guard.
@@ghostsalesEveryone cares, we’re all still here watching and marveling this dude nearly 40 years later wondering/wishing what could have been had he overcome his demons in his prime
I dunno about your first sentence. There is always somebody who can beat you. But, Buster Douglas wasn't the guy to beat prime Tyson. Tyson was soft, disinterested, and being trained by a dumbbell. Even so, he had Douglas hurt & down early. Prime Tyson would have blown Douglas out. About like Tyrell Biggs.
The Manassa Mauler. Back when an opponent makes it back up to one knee was fair game for punching and they didn't have a set number of rounds. 40 round fights were common
Trevor dressed like Mike ( wanting to be like Mike) but there is only ONE Mike Tyson, and he proved it !! ❤️ Love you champ!! Youre the greatest of all time !!!
Mike was the challenger. He was not allowed to wear black trunks because Berbick was going to. Tyson had to pay a $5,000 fine because he wore black anyway. Edit: Mike is the greatest!
At 5’10” and 220 lbs, Tyson’s used his shorter height to position himself directly in front of his targets, who were opponents usually 4 to 5 inches taller. A master tactician.
I agree with Doug,it will be,or never in our life time see another fighter like mike tyson...see how mike followed through with that elbow in the first round with that over hand right...very classic...love it...he was raised by the best ...Cus Damoto...all time great...
This was one of the all time feel good moments in sports history. Berbick, the arrogant bulley, stated, " No little guys beating me." Iron Mike proceeds to beat him like a rented mule. Thanks, Mike, we all own you a beer.
Perhaps till date no one has been like Mike Tyson , He is phenomenal always found to be offensive even against the mightiest. One can’t win a fight without being offensive and playing only defensive.
getting in the ring with Mike reminds me of your first sparring session. Mike Tyson stripped these men of any courage they had built up in years of training.
I think that was the most devastating fight between a strong champion and a future legend. PS - Iron Mike was a machine and I think no one would ever have knocked him out before his 30 if he had had a less permissive life.
@@Demonizer5134 Not exactly. Tyson in his brief, marauding prime was a true wrecking machine. But due to his lack of longevity and mental problems, he can't be considered the very best there ever was. But for a brief time he was indeed as good as it gets and all but unbeatable. You are very holier than thou. Calm down.
@@hyena131 Because I'm sick of hearing people claim that prime Tyson was unbeatable despite getting completely destroyed by Buster Douglas at age 23. I can't stand that type of ignorance.
@@Demonizer5134 Yes, but the Tyson beaten by Douglas was not a prime Tyson, but a Tyson on a slow but steady downward spiral at this point. Watch the fight. Barely any of his famed elusive lateral movement, and he was lunging in with single punches simply looking for a big KO. That said, Douglas fought a great fight.
Berbick defeated Ali - Tyson defeated Berbick Holmes defeated Ali - Tyson Defeated Holmes Leon Spinks defeated Ali - Tyson defeated his brother Michael Spinks Joe Frazier defeated Ali - Tyson destroyed his son Marvis Fraizer = Tyson was revenger
Tyson being 20 in 86 than becoming close with PAC and hugging PAC after seldon fight in 96 while pac was only 24 is just crazy because Tyson still looks good today. PAC would be still full of energy and walking around living and loving life. Definitely would’ve helped Tyson in his later years. This stuff seems so long ago but in reality it was almost as if it was yesterday.
What a Great fight. True Sportsmanship from Both Fighters and true Heart from Trevor. And wow what a good Ref as well. Modern sports could learn a thing or two from the 80s scene.
Tyson was so good that he made many boxers at his time unworthy fighters. Many think he fought no big man. Now how the hell do you become a world champion without fighting any worthy opponent? That's crazy af
@@manolako😂😂😂😂 Ali and Tyson knew well who would win. The only style that can beat prime Ali is prime Tyson and via verse. Tyson respects Ali so much and via verse 😂😂😂😂. Both of them are literally from same boxing side, the cus d'amato. Tyson style is the most entertaining that is why even nobody put him in no 1 boxing rank, he is the best.
@@borood1188 Holmes had 24 fights after Tyson and out of the 75 fights Holmes had in his career, Tyson was the only boxer to successfully knock him out, doing so in the 4th round. Let me guess, you rode the short bus to school. 🤣🤡
Even for his young age, there was no show boating. When he and another fighter came face to face in the ring at the start of the fight, he was serious. Stone faced, professional, and his eyes were fixed on his opponent. After the bell rang, he was all business. No dancing around, just straight into attack mode. A great and intelligent champion!
"He's got the HEART! But his body won't let him do it!" Love that call. Berbick tried, he wasn't going to give up, but his body just couldn't answer the bell.
My top 10 best boxers of all time list: 1.Sugar Ray Robinson 2.Muhamad Ali 3.Floyd Maywether 4.Sonny Liston 5.Lenox Lewis 6.Mike Tyson 7.Marv Hagler 8.Rocky Marciano 9.Tyson Fury 10.Tommy Morrison
Dude looked SCARED from the beginning. Honestly he could have lived off his Jab and perhaps made the distance but I think after a few shots his brain was gone. Scary stuff
Droga !
The funniest sh!t ever is the announcer already talking like the fight was over at the beginning of the first round because Berbick had the wrong game plan. Tyson was a beast of a fighter.
