I learned @ a young age you can NEVER beat a man @ his trade! Love your work Mike! Real skill and a trade that is terribly underappreciated! Shout out from the mountains of Virginia! Happy New Year! God bless sir!
My father-in-law (who was a small town mayor, teacher, liquor store manager, convenience store clerk etc...) used to say "I don't care what you do in life, just do it with pride and do it well." This man exemplifies that.
The legend is back! Please upload more videos. Heck start a go fund me, to get a nice camera and laptop to upload. I'd be more than happy to throw a few bucks. Need more Mike Wilson!
Wow, I thought Mike was never going to make another video again! Christ Almighty! What's up, Mike? You got me into shining my shoes. My girlfriend helped purchase a bunch of items to make a kit. What's the odds of me getting better and then just going to make a couple of bucks in front of the state house or something mobile? extra money on the side. man gots to eat and this world dont make it any easier!!!! THANKS MIKE SERIOUSLY YOURE AN AWESOME HUMAN BEING!!
Sorry to answer so late, and I hoped it worked out for you. One thing lots of guys don't know that believe they are shining shoes, theres a difference between a clean shoe, and a shined shoe. Good Luck out there.
Mr Wilson, I saw a few videos of other shoe shine, saw a few of yours, got to say Mr Wilson, your very skilled and entertaining! Just need a good pair of leather shoes, I'll be there! Lol. Enjoyed...merry Christmas!
This is to Johnlarson2....Please change your intro for Mike and delete the word infamous & replace with famous. Here is the correct use of the word infamous: 1. having an extremely bad reputation: an infamous city. 2. deserving of or causing an evil reputation; shamefully malign; detestable: an infamous deed. Mike has a great rep is is a good guy.
why doesnt Mike have his own channel to upload videos? I hope he considers to upload more often if possible. Nearly half a year waiting for another video is a long time. Having ppl wanting to see your work isn't a bad thing though.
I challenge anyone who thinks Mike talks too much to teach the way he does without saying a word. I am ready for a good laugh when they make asses of themselves trying. I also enjoy his humor.
Really enjoy all of your videos Mike! Can you please tell me what shoe conditioner you used? Thanks for all the help your work is amazing. Have a wonderful week. -
Mike: I tried your trick of applying polish first and then using leather conditioner, both of which I apply with my fingers. The first boot then dries while I do the same thing with the second boot (I wear Western-style boots). I then dry brush the first boot and brush over it lightly four or five times, then apply a thin coat of polish with my fingers and let it dry while I do the same with the second boot. I then spray water onto the brush and brush the first boot seven or eight times, and apply another coat with my fingers. I then buff with an old pantyhose and apply neutral polish with my fingers, set aside to dry, and repeat the process with the second boot. I then give the first boot a go-over with a brush sprayed with water and buff with the pantyhose to a mirror finish. I repeat the process with the second boot, and I am done. P. S., I served with the 82nd Airborne Division Band, and this method will pass any inspection. Since that time, nothing else satisfies me. Except for one pair of brown boots, my boots are black. I also do this with my Corcoran jump boots, which I use for American Legion events. Either color, this works. Thank you for the hint.
I have a pair of walnut Allen Edmond Strands that a couple of drops of cooking oil fell on the toe of the shoe and left a couple of oil stains....do you have an answer on how to remove those stains? Thanks and Happy Holidays
Mike amazing work! Would love to have a shine from you if I come through washington in the future! Could you super shine a pair of vietnam Jungle boots!?
Hate to say it, if you wear good shoes, you gotta wear rubbers. When I saw how expensive my Aldens had gotten, I started wearing rubbers. I immediately felt old (and that was 40 years ago), but I had to do it.
