I remember watching this game and to be honest I did not pay attention to Arteta. I even remember watching PSG games and never noticing Mikel. It's really his first game at Highbury with Everton that I remember and I was quite impressed. It was after the Invincibles season if my memory is correct and we thrashed Everton I think Edu and young RvP scored after coming on for Bergkamp. Anyways as far as I can remember of Mikel I always rated his game.

It just shows how tough it is to play against this Arsenal team, so physically strong yet very technical. Mikel barely gets anytime on the ball before someone is breathing down his neck.

I’ve always been a Rangers fan but properly started following the games after 2001/2002 season Arteta was my favourite player. Still unfortunate the way he left Rangers & no disrespect to Everton but I think he should have went to a bigger club whilst he was in his utmost prime was a pleasure to watch when he had pace & could run all day with his passing range.
