In this video lesson, you will learn the best chess attacking strategy from the greatest master of attack, Mikhail Tal. It is from his game against Zoltan Ribli in the year 1985.
Known for his tactical supremacy and brilliant sacrifices, Tal delivered a beautiful tactical combination by sacrificing his knight in the middlegame.
GM Igor Smirnov will teach you how Tal constantly creates threats, exploits his opponent's weaknesses, and keeps activating his pieces. These are the key factors for a successful attack against your opponent.

Dear GM Smirnov I’m a fan of yours & really enjoy your videos. This game by Tal is an instructive example of how Tal mobilizes his pieces & locks in on weaknesses in his opponent’s camp, using relentless tactics. Could you please do more videos on the games of Tal? Thank you!

positional play is the most important aspect in chess. Material in the game are only as useful as the end itself. In that sense the end of the game is not whether it was a win or a loss, [wins and losses are always present in games] but how far you brought your material toward the end goal. This is chess... not whether you win or lose

Can you please tell why in kings indian defence when black plays f5 white do not take on f5. And knight a6 is the move in kings Indian defence but why if you have e5 and knight c6.please reply
@bartholomewtheiiijr.386
@bartholomewtheiiijr.386 6 месяцев назад
Nc6 in the kings indian doesn't work with the strategy of the opening, as you want the knight to control or land on the c5 square, meaning that Na6 or Nd7 work for that, but Na6 is more flexible because it doesn't block the bishop unlike Nd7, and it also controls b4 from there which could be an important square. If you play Nc6 it could just be kicked by the white pawn and you practically lose the tempo. When black plays f5, white doesn't take, because taking opens up blacks pieces against the white king. The main idea of the kings indian is to attack white on the kingside, and white taking on f5 would open up the black rook, and allow black to capture with his bishop and improving it. It is also more important for white to develop their own piece instead of taking an giving black a free tempo of development for his bishop.

@rivetace

Something I've noticed about players like this who make sacrifices is that they put a lot of priority on restricting certain key pieces of their opponents. For example in this game, Tal restricted the knight on d2, making white's play very awkward. Sometimes, to attack, you first have to remove defensive options!
