Følg Miko i skovskolen på Nyaru Menteng.
Miko blev fjernet fra sin mor og holdt som kæledyr, da han var helt spæd. Heldigvis blev han reddet og flyttede ind på rehabiliteringscentret Nyaru Menteng. Da var han bare 3-4 måneder gammel. På centret passede menneske-erstatningsmødre ham, og efterhånden blev han stærk og tryg nok til at begynde i skovskolen.
I dag er Miko en fræk, selvstændig og særdeles nysgerrig orangutang, der har gode chancer for at kunne vende tilbage til naturen.

I don’t know how they “don’t” become attached to the orangutans. I would be. It’s how some of us that have hearts are. You know they get attached to us. Very sociable.

I am sure they do the one lady said in broken English it hurts your heart to let them go. It just comes down to getting them back to the wild to make room for more Orphans. They even rotate in and out to try and prevent it. Once they become wild again they are back.

I spend my life adoring and worrying about these intelligent, sentient, better-than-humans' survival as 3 tiny critically endangered most marvelous creatures, and elephants worldwide too. I love them obsessively and support them as much as I can.

Yeah boy 4:05 is the shaker and mover of orang utan island. Shell stop anyone of them from getting out of line. I heard she will grabem by the head and give them the earthquake shake test. Its a safe way to prepare them in case of real erfquake. Depending on what mood shea in will determine how long the test will take.

Children of the forest. They are super cute and adorable. Listening to their tiny squeezing voices breaks my heart and watching these tiny little babies so helpless like human children and to know that every one of them had their mother brutally taken rom them. They now have to be taught everything they need to know to grow up and live in the treetops.

Funny a wild animal is actually better behaved than a human child.I would think It would be much harder to watch that many 3 year old kids.

These babies can not make it without a mother, anymore than our babies can if we just left them to fend on there own. We wouldn't dream of doing that with human babies, but humans think it's ok to do it to our endangered primates.

I am saddened to watch this because when I see all of these defenceless little innocent orphan babies desperately wanting to be held and comforted by it's caregivers since all of their real mothers have been killed or butchered because of mans greed for power and his ignorance accompanied by his arrogance that he is doing nothing wrong because there is no one to stop him.

Not sure why they drag all of them out into the forest, just to have them sitting around their asses shoving food in their faces! The one they featured here, climbed up about three feet to get a treat, and other than that, he never left the ground. He'll be a nice fat blob for a Lion to have for dinner if they ever released him. None of them are anywhere close to being advanced as tiny 6 month old Orangs in the wild. Makes me angry to see these people exploiting the animals for money. Imagine what they're doing when the cameras aren't there to document this disgusting sham!

What you saw is just a fraction of their life. They indeed go to school, taught how to survive, taught making nest, to be ware of the surrounding and the danger (snakes, bear) but this babies are just a few months old.
