Hopefully this helps anyone considering buying a set of Milano poker chips. I use my own 2500+ chip set of almost all denominations for the review. Enjoy and please leave comments! I'm happy to post more Milano-related videos if anyone has questions.

@@jwhofer not sure if your $5 chips still having the inconsistent colour issue, as mine I oiled them and left them under the fan for at least 30 mins to ensure the clay absorb the oil, then wiped them and they’re awesome! Btw I just got a great quality Milano 500pc set yesterday for $0.39/pc thanks to your video!

Is there a specific process to oiling the chips? Just get a rag and coat each one lightly with oil, then wipe them down with a clean rag?
@jwhofer
@jwhofer Год назад
I used clear mineral oil. 1. Massage oil into each chip individually with a rag , making sure to get all the chip's surfaces and little nooks/crannies. 2. Then I set the chips on dry paper towels to sit and just soak in the oil for about 1/2 an hour. 3. After that, wipe each chip dry individually with paper towels. 4. Then set the dry chips back on fresh dry paper towels and let a fan blow on them, just to make sure they're completely dried out before putting them back in the racks. I recall flipping the chips over during that final dry to make sure both sides dry. Hope that helps. Happy to answer any other questions or clarify. Thanks!

@echopiece79 Год назад
@@jwhofer Thanks for the detailed response! Do you have any issues with oil affecting the in-lays?
@jwhofer
@jwhofer Год назад
@@echopiece79 No issues. I would imagine if you left the oil on too long or didn't dry them properly there would be major issues though. Now that I think about it, I don't think I left the oil on for more than 1/2 hour.

I'm ready to buy either the 800 set or the 1,000 set Milano poker chips however, the $25 denomination chip has been out of stock for a while now. Does anyone know where I may be able to get them?

Dang that sucks. Probably a major shipping or production issue with the manufacturer in China. Sometimes you just gotta wait............

The best forum for buying/selling chips from chip freaks is PokerChipForum. Not sure if there's any Milanos up for sale but you can definitely post a "I'm looking for $25 denom Milanos" there and people will respond.

With 2500 chip set how many tournament entrants could you do, do you think?
@jwhofer
@jwhofer Месяц назад
It really depends on which denominations you get. 2500 chips is massive really........way more than you'd actually need for even a 10-20 person tourney. But it's fun to hoard :O)
@vandelayindustries5814
@vandelayindustries5814 Месяц назад
@@jwhofer it is massive. I'm a poker tournament director and feel accomplished that I can get 50 entrants from a 1000 piece set. Haven't considered what I can get from 2500.

Do you recommend poker case covers (chipco)? And if yes, then how big of a case should I get to hold 600 racks and cases? Thank you
@jwhofer
@jwhofer 2 года назад
Could you clarify? Do you mean the 100-chip racks that have plastic covers over them? I've never used those. But if you mean the big "bird cage" carrying cases that hold 1000 chips (in 10 racks), yes I use those.
@jwhofer
@jwhofer 2 года назад
Something like this would hold 1000 chips. But the plastic racks would not be the Chipco racks. www.amazon.com/dp/B078YT3Y1G

Where did you get the jester chips?
@jwhofer
@jwhofer 6 лет назад
Hi Joe. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! I got the Jester chips off of texaspokersupply.com. I just checked and they're not available anymore. I bought a stack because I was curious what the felt like, how they played, stacked, etc. Jesters were on clearance. They are nice ceramics that were regularly like $0.60 a chip, but they were on clearance for like $0.13 a chip. Amazing deal! The only problem was they only had really random denominations/amounts available since they were just clearing them out. So it was hard to actually put together a usable set. I will say if you find them elsewhere, they are great chips. I could do a mini review of them, but I'm pretty sure they're simply not available anywhere.

Thanks for watching the video and commenting. I really appreciate it. Yeah, natural hand oils will do the trick, you're right, over time. But if you want them shined up quick and in an even manner across all chips, a little mineral oil does the trick.
