Actually I would think that if you really look into how this song was made it's most likely pretty straightforward. Mod trackers old and new alike excel at chopping and sequencing samples. If you're into any breakbeat/hip hop/jungle etc and think that it would be overwhelming to compose something like this, i would take a look into trackers. Protracker is about as simple as it gets and the workflow on this song would be pretty easy to explain out step by step. Although they might have had to use some hacking to make it sound like the song has more than 4 channels.

a 4-channel PCM sample-based sound chip built into a computer in 1985 (when the Amiga came out) was actually amazing, considering other ones only had sound generators (square wave/noise), or maybe an FM synthesizer, rather than audio playback capability built-in.
