You’re well and truly one of the most hard working people I’ve ever seen…and not only on just this platform. You run multiple channels. You livestream constantly and consistently. You’re creating short films, putting together ARGs, sitting through insanely long livestreams, and so much more. I’m not sure how you do it all, Nathan, but I’m here for it. It’s incredible to be able to watch as you do all of this. Thank you for sharing all of your hard work with us.

"For Siobhan" made me tear up...for reals, she would have helped Milford out of this mess way faster and with a smile. I feel this character because I feel really stuck in my life. Like no matter how hard I try I can't move forwards. I really don't have anywhere to go. But I just wish I could be more productive to feel like I have some sense of purpose or worth and to make my parents proud you know? I really like the addition of the flashbacks/dream sequences, both the cinematography and musical scores are beautiful. I like this version better than the first, I like how the car motivated him to get going, even though he ended up in the same place in a different place :) But at least he went for it rather than get locked down into a life he would have hated.
@BronzedTube
@BronzedTube 2 года назад
Hi Smoog! If it helps, you won't feel stuck forever. There will be a day where it feels right. I felt stuck for my entire 20's and my Mom passed away before I could tell her I finally got out of the rut and was finally headed forward for once instead of just going up 3 rings on the ladder and often going back down 2. Wish you the best and just keep taking all the chances you get. - Some rando on the internet.

I see it differently. It's almost as if he is afraid of getting comfortable. He could have taken the girl out and grabbed the job supplies. They could have fallen in love, he could have really enjoyed that job but instead he ran. And as everybody learns you can't run from your problems if they lie within you.
@smoog4795
@smoog4795 2 года назад
@@rhinovirus2225 trust me I know that. Problems catch up with you no matter how far you go. I think he wasn't happy living there, but yes he could have tried to make it work certainly. I just don't think it's where he wanted to stay. Sometimes just a place is the most problematic part of your life. It can be toxic because of the environment. But sometimes it's yourself. You just don't know until you try. I guess that's the point though lol

This felt very real, and my heart feels heavy. This feels so real that it seems like this was/is real. Perhaps not now, but was once a reality you and or your brother experienced/witnessed? I don't ever want to but words in anyones mouths, ever. The destine that you seem to have towards Milford, and how real this short film feels... if it's pure fiction... the realism that you two have created is truly mindblowing. Either way, this is an amazing film. I hope that you and your brother do more of them. I came for Dad, I stuck around for sad poops, good feels/vibes and the positive community you have cultivated, and I'm staying for more Milford's. You are truly talented.

@Nathan Barnatt It's true, you have some amazing energy! Creative energy, and go-getter energy, and just _...energy!_ I'm exhausted from watching a short film! Heh. And I still have to brush my teeth _and_ change into people clothes, and only _then_ can I start again on my daily "hunt". It's exhausting. Idk how you do it, but I really admire it. You create amazing beauty in this world, and I'm always impressed by how nice you are, and so sincere you remain in spite of everything that we normies can only imagine. ...And I'm not here to stroke your ego. I think anyone who has followed your work a bit via YT livestreams and the Discord & other social media would 100% agree. It's not envy; it's admiration. And it's not parasocial, I promise! Lol. I'm someone who grew up at probably just the right time frame to be able to separate that & stay at arm's length. ...To keep a head above water even when inundated in an ARG, cos idk we would always remain distant, cos we didn't used to be able to just tweet celebrities or just post comments on their projects' nonexistent comment sections. We just read interviews on Rolling Stone or whatever. I was a bit blown away to find out that our school library had the hard copies, but we kind of ruined that for everyone. Lol. Anyway... Great film, Nathan. Fantastic work! As ever! Congrats to your brother, as well, and everyone who clearly poured so much hard work into this project. It's divine!

@@GwenActually Yea it was mainly the $20 that made me raise an eyebrow. I'm good friends with a mechanic and used to hang out in his shop a lot when we were neighbors. It makes me it hard to swallow that he would just let it go for 20 when I know for a fact he could have gotten at least 200 scrapping it at a junkyard. BUT I guess it is possible it could have been a situation like your friends where even the mechanic didn't have the title, since you do need the title to scrap em (kinda makes the entire transaction dubious and sketchy to me, but Nathan's character seems to not be worried about that kinda stuff so, yea, okay, I guess...)

Nathan I really really appretiate this film because, and i know this is going to sound weird but I legitamately had a similar story i wanted to write and create into a short film, but as a highschool student soon going into college I didnt have the time. when i say similar i mean like it even had like the hypothetical scenarios. The whole stuck in small-town theme which i had personally experienced myself so when i saw this it really meant the world to see that someone else had made it a reality. Nathan seeing this doesnt make me think that someone beat me to it because obviously you probably had this written down for ages but also because im just a kid with an imagination. Nathan you might not read this but i want you to know you have actually helped me figure out what i want to do with the rest of my life. thank you.

also Ive been following your stuff for years, even tho im a bit young.The earliest thing i remember you from is probably a keith apicary video and your gta5 dance video. Also i remember some of your acting as well you were in an episode of kirby buckets if i recall correctly. Im 18 so i grew up around that time.

I have only one complaint about this film. It ended and I wanted to see more. 😎

Sad? He followed his dream and made it to California! May not be a big dream but he accomplished something instead of getting stuck in the podunk town he grew up in

@@PCGGC Oh, I misrepresented myself there. I love this story. I love this character. That said, the struggle of getting out of your own way, resisting the urge to make ex sides to hold yourself back and successive failures to launch. That’s sad and reminds me of a dark time in my life. (“Sad… so relatable…”) I love this story and it ultimately is happy, but it does not lack for sadness, in my opinion.

Great work Nathan! I love the low key mood and all the slow wide angle to zoom shots, very effective to set the tone of this short.
