Update! The dermatologist wouldn’t remove my milia. She said to see an optometrist or ophthalmologist because it was in my lower lash line. I’m using Curology by the way and since 5 months ago I notice that It’s gone down to a minute fleck. No worries.

Fortunately, I have not been troubled by this issue, but now I know just to head to the dermatologist! Thanks for all your tips and sensible info I know I can trust. I have been washing my face, leaving it wet, applying Hydroboost and my Cerave moisturizer and my skin is so happy and looks great. I never go without sunscreen and purchased the cutest SPF 50 hat for wearing around town. Keep the videos coming ~ we love them!

Lazer treatment against milia - Ive had milia since i was 13 or so, and ive had them removed everyother year for 13 years now with lazertreatment. So basically what happens is that the doc uses this lazer pen and burns the milia to the root. It hurts quite alot but for a very short time so i prefer that way much more than the needle. Also one side effect is that it takes about 1.5 weeks for it to heal so youll walk arouns with 1st degree burns on your face for a few days untill you can remove the dry crusts. Dont remove these too early as it may cause scaring. Also if you do remove them too fast ive found that they appear again after a while on the same spot. So let it heal and let the crusts fall off by its own or by a gentle touch. I hope this information may help anyone in need.

Well, I just returned from my derm appt, and the one thing near my eye is milia. I suspected that, but I wanted to be sure that it wasn't skin cancer. I thought about asking them to remove it, but it's not really bothersome. Rather than spend the money on a non-essential procedure that my insurance won't cover, I'll use that money to buy more sunscreen -- and maybe some Coolibar! Have a great day.

Honestly, I think something like that is causing my milia. I use a few products and have started using the Hada Labo premium lotion and while it is a good product, I think I just have to admit it isn't for my skin type. It is too hydrating for my combination skin. I am going to cut it out and stop using eye cream and see how it goes.

I recently had the electrosurgery at my dermatologists office to get rid of sebaceous hyperplasia on my face, and after only two weeks my skin looks great! Other than a bit of redness where the spots were, there is no sign of bumps/rough texture anymore! This is the only thing that has worked and now I use different to help prevent them further. While it was uncomfortable for a couple seconds (no topical anesthetic), I highly recommend it!

Great video again👍🏻 I’ve had milia for about 13 years I had Fraxel laser that took them away but after a few months they came back. I definitely believe eye creams has caused them. So no more eye creams unless it’s a light gel based. What do you think Andrea about gel eye cream? My Dr gave me Retin A to use for a month then come back in for removal. I am still using Retin A but have not went in for removal. I am soon as holidays are over. They are very noticeable and of course to me I see them over anything else. I had used a collagen serum and feel it caused them in beginning. As our eyes show age first the milia does not help at all. Thank you for your information and sharing. You are my go to for every skin issue👍🏻♥️

You could basically swap out the word milia for sebaceous hyperplasia in this video and the message would be the same, lol. No at home remedy for sebaceous hyperplasia...and when i say no at home remedy....i mean it, so don't fall for a package claim.

There are claims that these ingredients are a miracle for those like me that have sebaceous hyperplasia. onized water with Silver ions, Emu Oil, Sulfur USP (in microencapsulated form), Blackcurrant (Ribes Nigrum) Seed Oil, Borage (Borago officinals) Seed Oil, Azelaic Acid , Primrose Oil, Safflower Oil, Tea Tree (Melaleuca Alternifolia) Oil, Serine, Zinc Oxide USP(in microencapsulated form),Camphor, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, White Willow Bark Extract, Vitamin E (d¦Á Tocopherol), Grapefruit seed extract. This is from a cream that Brianna Stanko shared on her channel and she said that it worked at making hers almost non existent. What are your thoughts?

First, I love and really appreciate your videos. I'm so interested in skincare, and it's really cool to get info from a professional who's so real with her comments! I'm especially interested in all of your Asian beauty reviews :) (I'm all for putting weird things (snail secretion!) on my face if it's helpful, but it's often hard to find out what ingredients are trendy and helpful vs. what's just trendy. Sorry for the completely off-topic question--do you use bimap/something like that? Your eyelashes are amazing, and they've been looking even longer lately. Also, if I don't really have an acne problem, would you still recommend Differin as a retinol for anti-aging? Thanks!
@DrDrayzday
@DrDrayzday 7 лет назад
Thanks so much!! I don't use anything for eyelash growth, but thank you for the complement. I continue to use differin for acne control, as well as removing sun damaged skin cells. It is not fda approved for wrinkles, like tretinoin, however, is likely more effective in the realm of "anti-aging" than a cosmetic retinol (despite package/marketing claims).

I was so very glad to find your channel. I appreciate information from someone that delivers it in an enjoyable way. I know this isn't quite the same issue probably however, how would you address the bumpy patches that occur on skin like shoulders top of back in particular. I think the name starts with the letter K but not positive. I have read several articles about people retina this with Donell Body Tingle. I think it has 20% glycolic acid which is the active exfoliating ingredients. I would appreciate your opinion on this. Thank you for all the info you provide your subscribers. Have a good weekend. I had never had this before and they appeared after my face turned red & was burning after using a product containing Niacinamide, which I now know I’m reactive to. I’ve gotten amazing results from simply dabbing the milia with rubbing alcohol on a Q-tip just after moisturizer specifically on the very spot. Localized and consistently applying this method at least one a Day did the trick for me...simply from too much moisture in that particular pore. Babies get them and the dry up and fall off. Sometimes less is more. 😊

Hello! I've been dealing with acne for 3 years now. It has never been too bad. Mostly white heads and zits but I never have more than 6 on my face. Not extremely bad. I have normal to dry skin. What do u think a dermatologist would recommend? Much love!!!
@DrDrayzday

hard to say...but probably a variety of helpful topical medications and/or potentially a systemic medication

Dr. Dray, I saw a local dermatologist and asked about this. I had several milia, two on my eye lids. He took sterile scissors and cut them out....I thought I was going to lose an eye or be blinded. Lol! Oy! When they pop up now (not on my eyelids tho), I take care of them myself and have been successful. Good to know there's really nothing I can do to prevent it from recurring. Thanks for your honesty!

I have developed something on my cheeks that seems not firm and white enough to be milia but also not red enough to be KP. Any ideas what that could be?

I got rid of some of mine (which come on with too rich of a moisturizer) by using Pixi by Petra Glow tonic and occasional shaving my face. It takes a while but it worked. I still have one under one eye and on the cheek. I am on a chemo drug for Lupus so that may be why I'm prone to get them.

I now have 4 milia bumps come up on my cheek and 2 on my head, to clean I use ponds as my 1st cleanser and follow up by either cerave SA cleanser or a clay type cleanser that's a bit gentler as my 2nd (I dont always double cleanse) I use 0.5% retinol in squalane and lactic acid 5% + AHA (not on same day) atleast once/twice a week each also, they're the only other things I use though. I use cerava moisturise cream as my moisturiser and I ALWAYS use suncream now and have done pretty much everyday for a year or so. So I've got no idea what's going on because I feel like my routine isn't that bad 😫

I went to a massage place with my mom just the little store front ones that Asians do. They were rubbing and touching my face the next morning I woke up with a huge rash and milia bumps all over my mouth chin cheeks ! I went to the dermatologist and she gave me hydrocortisone cream? Is that an effective treatment cause I was a bit worried to use steroid cream on my face. I have never had this condition so it is most likely from the massage I got

I'm extremely prone to milia & my skin can develop milia within hours. I had to use sunscreen when i went to Florida & so far the RESIST Super-Light Wrinkle Defense SPF 30 from Paula's Choice has been the only sunscreen that does not give me milia. Try it out.

I have a question, so I moved to California last year and never used sunscreen on my face previously (I lived in Oklahoma) I'm 23, and when i heard how much your skin needs sunscreen I started using Aveeno positively radiant which contains oxybenzone which I hear is really bad for you, so i switched to la rosche mineral zinc+titanium. I never once noticed these little bumps on my face, but ever since i started putting sunscreen on starting with the aveeno i've been getting milia (like directly under my eyelash) and I thought switching to the la rosche would fix it but pretty sure i am still getting them. my dermo gave me tretinoin cream but i'm scared to put it under my eyes constantly because the skin is so sensitive, and i'm also scared to try any sunscreens for fear of continuously getting them. do you have any advice? do you think the sunscreen could actually cause this?

Those derma rollers are for the birds. They leave tiny holes in your skin. They say it allows your skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin. But who would in their right mind would deliberately put tiny holes in their skin. Crazy if you ask me.
