His kids thought nothing of going to the airport to pick up a client, nor of having cameras their interviewing their mom, Jessica Lark who is an Author and Artist
They asked if the interview would be online or on tv and if they could say hi to their daddy who was in month 9 of a 12 month tour in Afghanistan and wish him a Merry Christmas, they wanted to show they were wearing the dog tags he had given each of them from his first deployment to wear until he came home.
Little did they know they were about to receive a very very special christmas gift...

Thank you for sharing this glimpse of family love. I'm 67 and had a very distant father growing up. No "I love you", no hugs, nothing. Discovering the military homecoming videos has been a gift. So many young families expressing their love, affection and joy in each other as if it's the most normal thing in the world kind of fills an empty place in my heart from long ago. It's so good to see.

*Soldiers coming home and surprising their colleagues is a testament to the camaraderie and brotherhood/sisterhood in the military. They're always there for each other.*

Why do British soldiers never get this kind of homecoming they are just as brave as any other soldier and deserve just as much THANKS for their service to keep us safe GOD bless you all and the British government should be ashamed of the way you treat all of our troops SHAME on you

We, ordinary citizens , don't realize just how much is given by the military families every day! We can't thank you all enough, but THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES HAVE GIVEN UP FOR THE REST OF US TO LIVE NORMAL LIVES! WE do really appreciate you, and all your predecessors for giving us freedom from fear!

I was 12 years old when my father returned from Vietnam to Australia after a year away. Unfortunately we didn't have video recorders then but I remember how very special that feeling is. Seeing such joy and love in your video reminds me of what's good in this world. Thanks for sharing.

Other than God's love (which this is really) these "homecomings" are the most beautiful things I've seen. I could never possibly express to this family how thankful my family is for them. We KNOW you have made this career sacrifice willingly. Thank you! And congratulations on the 💜.

Everyone believes their side is in the right, and every side has to suffer the loss of their soldiers for months or years at a time and possibly forever. Your soldiers and their families, make no less sacrifice than ours, and everyone that serves their country has to carry the weight of war, and the sacrifices made, and hope the good they are doing outweighs the harm they may cause. Peace to you friend. The more there is peace the less we have to say goodbye to our families, so they can put country first.
