This brings back memories ! My DH and I met when he came home to be in his brother's wedding. I worked with my DH 's brother (he was a manager at a local discount department store) and after the wedding, we were introduced. We only dated for 3 weeks before he had to go back to the base he was stationed at. 6 months later ( in February) he sent home an engagement ring and we were married 4 months later in June. We were married for almost 29 yrs at the time of my DH's death......We had such an amazing marriage. I loved being stationed overseas....while I will admit I was homesick, but it was a great experience to be so far away from home.....simply because when you are that far away from home, you have to learn to do things as a couple etc. We were married as I said for almost 29 yrs...and never ever fought. We truly were "made" for each other. I loved being able to decorate that very first apartment we had.....I have photos of that long ago "first home" and it reminds me so much of your awesome first home Becca ! Congrats....and I just subscribed ! How about doing a video showing how you made your "Together " sign...( maybe you could make one and then do a video ...then pick someone who made a comment or something to win it ? ( Might be good to add subscribers? ) I would love to know how you made the sign though.
June1708 Such a beautiful story, thank you for sharing it with me. I’m so glad my video brought back happy memories for you. I will definitely do a video about making my signs, thank you for the suggestion!
Excellent video! It is a palace compared the one room dorm I shared when I was in the service, and the two of us shared a bathroom with the room next door... yeah... allows me to truly appreciate a little more space these days! Best wishes!
I love your home! Can’t wait til we move to our First duty station, you have me lots of great ideas. I love the “x” tables the most and all the personalized decor with your last name. I’m obsessed!!
Oh my gosh i love your decor! So no lie I think we live on the same street like 4 houses away😂 not trying to creep, I was looking up military housing decor and happened on your videos
Was your husband an NCO when you got this home? I am PCSing to Ft. Campbell and our house is super steril...no carpet or anything I don’t believe it has any of that tile you have there in the kitchen either...
He was an e-4 when we moved in. We specifically asked for a renovated house before picking it out. You can always refuse a house when they offer it if you’re not happy and they’ll find a different one for you! I hope it all works out for you! 🤞🏼
Becca&Nick. We are looking to stay on post also. He's actually in South Korea right now. Should i go ahead and start applying for on post housing or wait? Is there a long waiting list?
I would definitely apply soon. Our wait was 1 month, but I think PCS waits are 1-3 months depending on the area you want. You can look at house layouts at campbellcrossingllc.com On post housing here is E1-E5 and then E-6 and up including officers get the nicer housing. If you have a bigger family needing a bigger house (more than 3 rooms) the wait will be longer as well
We went into the housing office and they showed us houses, and we picked a style, so they called us 2 weeks later with an address and then 2 more weeks and we moved in. You can also apply online as well! It honestly depends on what housing they have available for your needs 😊
If you’re PCSing, or it’s your first move you’re the top priority for housing, so there will be houses available (don’t worry!!) there are 4 on my street that are empty right now actually, and it’s like that all over post. And you’ll get BAH no matter if you live on or off post, it’s just if you live on post you don’t actually see the money, they just take it directly out! You can apply for housing on campbrllcrossingllc.com
