If these guys haven't seen/watched Escape from Tarkov yet - they should. It doesn't meet Mat's definition (they aim for realism) but the gun manipulation is darn legit, and there is some crazy wild violence in it.

The "mace" was actually actually very useful in close combat fighting. Soldiers would make makeshift clubs, knives, knuckledusters, and other hand held weapons in the trenches since rifles were very bulky.

FYI, in WW1 crude melee weapons such as the spiked mace you saw in the first clip were widely employed in trench warfare. This is because the cramped spaces of the trenches made warfare using the common long rifle near impossible and pistols were not issued to normal foot soldiers.

Funny thing about the first clip, both sides in world War one made their own maces for nighttime trench raids to stay quiet.

A mace was a knob at the end of a 2 or 3 foot shaft. When it had spikes they called it a Morningstar

Fun fact: people used to be able to drive the hovercrafts up the sides of buildings in the new Battlefield game until it was patched out. Also, the guy ejecting out of the F35 and killing the other jet with a rocketlauncher before getting back in his jet was a reference to a kill cam from one of the previous Battlefield games.

I dont play games, they annoy me dont know why lol BUT I started spotting for one of my boys years ago playing COD on the big screen in the lounge and later with my younger kids playing GTA and it was awesome fun and really darkly funny sometimes and weirdly after a slow start my kids enjoyed it. Loved this too!

New definition of Coffee bagging: A movement similar to the commonly known “teagbag”motion, that consists of a player jumping, then slowly crouching on an enemies Body/head/etc two times once the player has landed on their enemy, resulting in a humiliating physical display upon winning a duel. 👍🏽😭

Fun fact, the scene at @17:00 is fan service from the studio. Years ago there was a viral stream from a previous Battlefield where the guy did this in the game. It was such a popular video that the Battlefield designers put it in the trailer.

There is a scene in the TV show "Barry" where he describes his first shot/Kill to an acting group and I haven't seen any actual military people react to it yet, Its a very interesting and I believe true to life scene. Would be cool if you guys looked at it.

The scene in the Battlefield trailer where he ejects from the plane and shoots down the other plane with a rocket launcher was the developers giving a nod to a streamer that had done that in multiplayer to someone in the previous Battlefield game.

1:24 no it’s a trench club. The soldiers would run over the top then fight in the trenches and bayonets on a rifle were long as fuck so they made trench clubs from wood and railroad spikes. That’s what you see.

I'm not trying to disrespect anyone, but I find it amusing how little modern, professionals, like Matt and Eli, know so much about guns, fighter jets, and military tactics, but know so little about medieval hand weapons, like the mace (or trench mace - WWI). So, I think you should have them review Skyrim or LOTR-type games.

I was acqused of wall hacks once. I saw the guy go to the window, brought up the scope to take the shot and he kept going to the window and then to behind the wall beside it. The wall blocked him from view. So kept watching the path he took and I guessed about where he was behind the wall and shot. Got him, and his death chat I wall hacked. Thing is he took the same path each time.

I still remember when the video of that original trick shot came out and it was awesome! The guy hops out the plane, shoots an enemy plane with his rocket, then got back into his plane and flew away. I think it’s pretty neat that they threw that into the trailer. It was neat moment in video game history that they’re now paying homage to by putting it in the official trailer. That said, I haven’t played BF or CoD in years because the games went to complete shit.

Oh that Mace thing i read our Canadian soldiers used such a thing for trench warfare in WW1 ...Germans were terrified of Canadian soldiers overrunning the trenches because they took no Prisoners when they did ...It's where the word Stormtrooper came from.
