This is my friend's family recipe for milk or dark chocolate toffee. It is definitely for the person in your life who has a serious sweet tooth! It melts in your mouth and is buttery, sandy-textured, and delicious, but definitely on the sweet side.
There is one tricky part about making toffee: cooking the sugar-butter mixture to the right stage. For this recipe, I find 285ºF-290ºF to be about right.
