Fkn hell, that's soo screwed up! 😤 Edit: I'm only 27 and to every single job interview I've been to for the last 4 years I've been tossed aside for someone with more experience! Like how the fuck are the businesses that practice this idiocy gonna get their labour when all the boomers and gen Xers are worn out and retired? Like explain to me how the fuck that is sustainable! Because IT FKN AIN'T!!
Age discrimination is one of the shittiest and hardest things to prove. Employers almost NEVER tell you Why they won't take you but it's easy to guess when your resume and experience are perfect but they still say no. Also what is a ghost job?
Oddly, age discrimination is something that lots of Millenials and Gen Z are facing now too. People assume we are lazy and don't want to work so they prefer to hire gen Xers or even young boomers. My husband is nearly 40. He was laid off his job almost one year ago and despite going on countless interviews at this point and submitting countless applications and resumes too, he STILL has not landed a job. One problem he seems to be facing is being overqualified for the lowest paying positions but slightly under qualified for the higher ones. He just doesn't have enough manager experience. This year has been insanely hard to say the least and I'm not even always able to make ends meet with my job, have had to get a little help from my mom.
@richardlopez4459 ghost jobs are listings for positions that the company isn't actually currently hiring for, so people get tricked into thinking there are way more jobs on the market then there actually are + waste their time applying and submitting applications.
@@JessG_20tell him to trash that resume and find an entry level job or add more management experience in his resume. They won't check for the management experience. And if he gets an entry level position just tell them he has been taking care of a family member the past 10 years. They won't check. It's a big game anyways it's not the experience they want it's someone they can control and feel superior too that they want. Sometimes you gotta play their dirty games if you want a spot on the team.
No they gd weren’t. Even the stuff the government is funding is private sector jobs. And btw, Dems have lowered deficits while Republicans have raised them, so the idea that they’re artificially creating jobs by moving all the money to the public sector is clearly false
Shit id love a government job if they paid worth a damn but every one I find is like "hey you'll get a pension but you'll struggle to survive every day of your life!"
Well, there would've been "full accountablility" by the MSM if this had been done under Trumps administration. That's all you need to know. The political lies that ppl get outraged over are ALL MANUFACTURED.
They didn’t lie. Their models aren’t forward looking they predict from previous data. How would you expect them to know when the economy turns until they get the actual data 6 months later?
Actually, there's a whole area called "consumer discretionary." My applogies if you already knew. However, consumer discretionary is what I like to watch.
Remember when there were two quarters of negative GDP growth? And we were told that it wasn't *actually* a recession because the jobs numbers were exploding? Yeah... about that.
We’ll build Hoovervilles and name them after our failing representatives while posting it on social media for the world to see just how wealthy and amazing life in the US
It is because of the 2-party system. You can get about 50% support for anything if one of the major parties is behind a policy or decision. "i don't like that this is happening, but I can't legitimize the other party by being too loud about my disagreement."
@@onpoint2292This is exactly the problem, political leanings have turned into a red team vs blue team game, meanwhile the American public are left sitting on the sidelines while a cabal of elites dictates the financial policies that keep average Americans poorer than the decision making rung, essentially future-proofing the system into never being accessible by the general population.
@@maxwellhesher1790 I don't even believe that as an issue. The real problem is that Americans can't tell the difference when a policy proposal will be good for them or horrible for the country long term.
@@Chibuike16 The issue is, those political proposals always make the rich richer and the poor poorer. And it’s done without us having a real say because of single issue voting and other issues plaguing the American political system.
@@Chibuike16 solid assessment. I've seen a lot of comments where people don't know any level of theory about the topics they think are important enough to base their votes on. Heck, I know I don't know a lot about a lot, and I know more than most.
Interesting how if someone running a public company lies about earnings can go to jail… but the government serving the public gets away with this s* : “do as I say don’t do what I do”
It’s not a lie it has to do with data collection and ghost jobs. Signed - a data scientist. Companies absolutely do not get prosecuted for an estimation that is later revised once you see that in the long term, some of the data was revealed to be false. You literally have to wait several months to see that a ghost job doesn’t get filled in order to know it’s a ghost job
@jessicam3707 Good to know. Thanks for sharing.😊 You might want to make your own comment for people to see. People get so frustrated that they just stop looking for more accurate information that gives them a better understanding. That is not me. I try to learn as much information as I can to make a more close to accurate or better decision.
When they say "jobs are up, unemployment is down!" What theyre failing to mention is thats because of the number of people being forced to work 2 or 3 jobs just to survive, including gig work.
@@YayaValder employment numbers tend to leave out anyone who has overrun unemployment benefits, gone back to school, became a stay at home parent/caregiver, moved onto a disability program, or anyone else who has simply stopped reporting that they're looking for work.
Now that is a lie. There are job losses and jobs are created. It could be that someone or several someones are feeding false information to the people working on the campaigns. Nobody that cares about the country is deliberately make things sound better than they are.
I make crafts for farmer's markets and stuff. It doesn't matter what anyone tells me about the economy, I can tell when its doing well because ppl are spending money on my crafts
At my job, we've been pretty immune to a struggling economy. It doesn't effect us too severely until it's REALLY bad. I've barely been making money the past 4 or 5 months so yeah, looks like it is really bad at this point.
Keep in mind one thing: These job reports are going based off what companies tell the government. Fed, state, and local. Is it likely the fed lied, yeah. But it's just as likely these companies told them they filled positions to get subsidies then erased the job after. If they hired anyone at all.
DUDE Get into politics, spreading awareness is great, but that's not the way to change and you're smart, you know this. Please do it FOR THE PEOPLE!🇺🇸💪
People already memory holed it but the July report reported about 200k jobs added. What the headlines missed was they were ALL part time jobs and over 400k full time jobs were lost.
to play devil’s advocate, i don’t know if they count jobs added like they do payroll, but i heard payroll was overestimated recently too and that is to be expected actually because the estimate is done based on survey data before the actual amount is calculated. i’d guess that something like adding a jobs is a bit more complicated than reporting payroll, so if the original estimate was based on survey data then this may not be their fault necessarily. still sucks though, but makes me feel a bit better for struggling with finding a job in my field lol also as someone who often agrees with your dissents i do want to point out that you are saying no one is correcting them and when they do correct them it doesn’t make headlines, but you are literally reading this directly from a headline for a huge news organization.
Finally someone gets it. If people are still looking toward the system thinking ‘there’s hope’ they are a lost cause and no one should waste their time engaging with them. Like the boomers, they live in their own world they still think it’s the 90s or 2000s 😂
For real ! my husband gets effing ghosted by every single company he apllies with and gets interviews with, even the ones who have brought him back for second and even third interviews and spent 2+ hours talking to him. But right...everones hiring and nObOdY wAnTs tO wOrK
@@JessG_20 I'm sure your husband has a great resume too. Companies have been saying no one wants to work since the industrial revolution. The world only gets crazier. Best of wishes to you and your family ❣️
I saw a blurb in the opinion section of the wall street journal where somebody tried to make the case that giving old homeowners a tax break was better for young people than a straight housing subsidy. That's so stupid I have to wonder who they think believes that crap. Obviously it's better to directly help people who need it, rather than directly help somebody else. And that somebody else is just fabricating reasons they should be preferred. It's obvious to me that they were just lying for a tax break. Idk if they're trying to create a pretense, or it's just that people listen to lies over truth when it benefits them.
The fact that you can apply to 500+ job postings that you're qualified / well qualified for and NEVER hear back tells me that companies aren't actually hiring. They just get tax breaks by saying, "Aww we couldnt fill these positions, plz help."
The problem is fake job postings. Alot of companies make fake job postings to continue getting certified tax benefits and rebates. That should be illegal..imagine if a random person made up fake stuff to get tax benefits they'd be prosecuted and thrown in Jail.
Follow the money..A so called Fake job listing allows Corporate to show and allow a head hunter. So the recruiter kicks back under the table cash gift cards expensive toys etc to the HR person who hires me through a head hunter. So if I am hired at 100k say 35k goes to the head hunter as a payments by the company. And the HR person gets a free hunting ATV toy from Santa via kickback from head hunter plus free rifle and ammo too.. Yeah and I might have sent a dozen resumes in the last 6 months. And actually worked for them in consulting work for over a year.. I
Trump is still part of the trend that is responsible for mass loss of jobs **AND** doing gigantic favors for corporations, CEOs, and ultra wealthy donors.
Almost the same! My husband was laid off 10 months ago, he cannot get a job anywhere despite countless applications and resumes and getting several interviews. He's been brought back at a few companies for 2nd and even a couple 3rd interviews. They all end up ghosting him or sending some generic, automated rejection email with zero constructive criticism, even when he's asked for it. So I'm currently paying for everything with my job , a sales position. And I've been making fewer and fewer sales especially during these last few months because people just aren't spending. If something doesn't change, we'll be having to move back in with parents or be homeless.
Yes! The years it took to actually understand what was going on. We had no internet to research these people. Or to see what they voted for or against! Sadly the only ones that are getting out unscathed is the boomers. All the rest of us are F**KED.
We are struggling just like our junior generations. I just got laid off a month ago. So now at 46 I have to make my resume look like I'm 36...it's wild.
@@rosseryankeegirl maybe don't do that. My husband is 39, he was laid off almost a year ago and STILL has not found a new job despite countless interviews and submitting countless applications and resumes. At this point we're guessing people right around your age might have a better chance . Gen X don't have a reputation of being "lazy" and unwilling to work. Companies might be favoring people in their mid 40s to mid 50s, but that's just my theory.
Exactly! If you fall for anything the news or any type of mainstream channel on RU-vid connected to the big 6, then you deserve whatever happens to you from being manipulated 😂
Freddie. I’m assuming you’re an accomplished realtor. You’re obviously intelligent. I’m also treating the increased number of RU-vid videos from you as my “Rockefeller Moment”. Housing in Florida must be on life support. Thanks for the leading indicator for the US economy.
Thank God, somebody would’ve platform is saying something about this because I swear to God I am sick of it. I can see it every day the more I get older than more I get into adulthood.🤬
That would be effing amazing! I really wish this would happen. People from all sides need to quit playing their game. If enough Americans just didn't vote this time around, it would send a very loud message.
If you account for present day we’re talking well over a million jobs. Not to mention these numbers are finalized until February 2025. Serious lies are happening here at the benefit of those it’s supposed to serve
Big problem: DOL depends on businesses being honest and ethical about their job numbers. It's not politicians' problem, it's a lying corporate problem.
Us Gen x are also tired of being lied to! For us, it's been our whole entire life!! This is why the descent humans in our generation are independent! We are tired of being SERFS.
There are ALWAYS vacancies at my job. It is hard to get people to even apply. I had a refrigerator HVAC tech come out to my house this morning to fix our compressor on our fridge. The first thing he said is he hast to work from 6 AM to nearly 7 PM because they cannot find young people that want to work. Same at my husband’s job, the older people are stable and if a revolving door with a younger generations
And I’m not saying ‘just stop working’. Should have clarified this, I mean stop working for these corporations and putting money in their hand. Also don’t listen or pay one bit of mind to the powers that be. Completely separate.
There have been a lot of problems for years. I couldn't get a job for years and then my mother went back to the workforce and she has an insane resume, and it is perfect even with the years removed because she came back and started working a job and instantly became a manager. She has been trying to apply for jobs with pretty much the only restraint she has is she doesn't want to work in the public unless it's a receptionist job is because she has a lot of pain but that is her reason she keeps that out of the application. And no one is hiring her I mean this is a woman who pretty much every company store restaurant whatever she has been a part of has resulted in an increase in profits when she was a manager, and now finally she got off my ass when she had her struggles, because before she was on me like white on rice and now she's finally seen the way the job market is these days.
Anything to not make the career Neocons and Neoliberals look bad in Congress. Anything to not make the hundreds of Federal Agencies in the executive branch look bad. I don't know how to reverse this trend of information manipulation and double speak by the Legislative and Executive branch. Republicans and Democrats do it.
It's because these companies are posting fake jobs. I just read an article the other day that these companies are posting jobs that they're not truly hiring for. They're getting a "feel for the market" and such. The article was quite eye opening because I was wondering why some of my friends are having such a hard time finding a job although I KNOW they apply for a TON of jobs each week. So, it makes these job reports not truly accurate.
This is stupid, added jobs is not a number that has implications for the vast majority of people and it is understood that these numbers are not accurate until quarterly and yearly revisions. If anyone understood this than the "lying" wouldn't work, you only feel lied to because you don't know what the hell added jobs numbers mean or how they are gathered and reported.
That number is over the year and is removing unauthorized workers (immigrants) from the data. The data is heavy on leisure and professional services, which are very unstable. There will be an adjustment upward for transportation, warehouse and manufacturing.
We literally need these jobs though I'm working so hard to get at least 1 job but it's still not enough i go through so many job listings and apply to them but i never get hired
During the Obama years, for about 40 months in a row, the jobs numbers were revised down. Hey, we didn't really create those jobs last month, but we totally did this month. They were able to count the same 250k jobs over and over again every month for years!
I am a young Millienal, every Millienal and Gen Z I know ow voted for their taxes and food to increase in 2020 and 2022, and they’ll vote for it again in 3 months and go homeless. Can’t fix stupid 😂😂
It would be really interesting to see you or someone with a decent boomer audience take a poll - ask the boomer generation how often they spent any extra money on things like beer, cigarettes, lotto tickets, going out to the movies, going to sporting events, etc. during the 70s, 80s, 90s when they were the age of younger adults today who are trying to save for a house. They're always telling us it's because we drink too many lattes or eat too much avocado toast. Did they do anything equivalent or were the majority of them really just such wise penny pinchers? 🤔
I'm 54, so not a boomer but older Generation X. But yeah, from the time I was 18 until the time I was 24, I put all my money into three things: 1) Real estate 2) Mutual funds 3) High interest earning savings account. OK, I wish that was true---but here's what I actually spent all my money on: 1) Slayer cassettes (yes, I'm that old---cassettes were still a thing.) 2) Carne asada burritos with cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. 3) Beer. Like, absurd amounts of it. I was in the military, so I was always going to have a roof over my head, food from the chow hall, health care, etc. That allowed me to waste every penny I had for years. The military is a massive safety net, and I never had to face any real consequences for my wasteful behaviors. On top of that, being a veteran allowed me to enter the workforce in a good position. I left the military around early 1995 and my veteran status meant I was pushed to the front of the line for most jobs. I bounced around at various jobs and then eventually landed into a killer career. But had I not been a Marine (and very lucky) I would've continued my family's long legacy of being po white trash in Alabama. Because thats where my lack of discipline was leading me.
The biggest problem is where they’re getting this “amount of jobs” statistic. No count is going to be correct due to tons of companies “scouting”, posting jobs that they aren’t actually hiring for, fake ‘scam’ jobs that just want your information, as well as jobs that aren’t actually jobs (MLM schemes and the like). So the raising/lowering of the job market is actually just incredibly inaccurate.
Guarantee it's at least 2 million. Companies are cherry picking from all candidates and weeding out potentials with ai assessments. Nobody is hiring this year. There are massive layoffs everywhere because of the inflation.
When you know someone is lying it is no longer a lie, it’s called gaslighting. Crying out for injustice doesn’t do anything, they stomp even harder on us for it, it’s been game over since the beginning of time anyways, f this world
