Day two of the Oxford High School shooter’s Miller hearing began Friday morning, picking up after a day of disturbing testimony and evidence shared in court.
This defense attorney’s voice is indicative of just how dead inside she is. And her prior treatment of one of the victims in court further supports this premise.
Good lord, his parents are losers on every level. I cannot imagine saying "No lawyer can get him out of prison, so we're taking care of ourselves." "Mom" is cold as ICE. Breaks my heart as a mom
I remember this day. Hard to believe it was almost two years ago. My school was 20 minutes away and we almost went on lockdown. I knew Madisyn Baldwin personally and was devastated to hear she died.

the prosecutor nailed it when he asked if the witness had ever advocated for early release for a mass shooter, or anyone that had killed 4 people. i keep waiting for that defense attorney to say 'bueler.. bueler' - she has no charisma whatsoever.
I think the defense attorney is taking a beta blocker. Id like to think if Ethan had gotten the mental health help he needed upon experiencing these issues he wouldn't have done what he did.
This lawyer does not seem prepared. She is asking questions that her witness has no clue about what the answer is. She sounds like she has about a 3ed grade education
Imagine the loved ones of the young people he killed sitting there listening to all the great opportunities that wait for him in prison...get his GED, take college courses, get a job. He stole their lives but things are looking great for him.
she's butt hurt because the judge ruled against her this morning. she was probably hoping that she could avoid hearing about all the horrible things the horrible person she is defending did
52:41 Ethan hears what looks like for the first time, that his mother said no lawyer could help him and they would take care of themselves. It looks like he is surprised and says “wow.”
Probably ONLY surprised his awful mother said it out loud. Not that she actually said it. That was EXACTLY as he knew her to be. Prison is probably a healthier, cleaner, more orderly environment than that awful house in which he lived.
I am sure that's what victims and their families wanna hear. How he'll have all these opportunities whilst their kids will never finish college/ aren't able to return to job they loved because of the trauma
I found this witness useful. I do feel for the defence attorney, I'd imagine you have to have a heart of stone to deal deal with these cases. Just to point out, he said EC paid for his education himself. Extremely devastating all round.
Jesus this Defense Attorney is hard to listen to and she sounds like a clueless idiot. Imagine being friends with her or married to her and having to listen to THAT during a conversation. That being said, she's asking all these questions about if he has opportunities to get his GED/ get a college education, if/when he'd be eligible for parole, but like, let's say he is deemed "rehabilitated" and they say he's approved for parole; where would he go? His parents likely won't be around depending on their sentencing, and he obviously didn't have any other family or close friends, like where would he go? What would he do? Even if he got a GED and/or college degree, would someone hire him? I just have so many questions and it irritates me that she's so concerned about his "future" and his "options". And if he ISN'T ever eligible for parole (because I VERY MUCH doubt he will), WTF is the point of getting a GED or college degree if you're spending life in prison?
The Miller Hearing really did underline Ethans immaturity. Even though Ethan clearly planned and executed the plan to kill and injure people, he is unable to accept his responsibility for the actions that accomplished that end. Asking God why God allowed him to do what he did is not- imo, psychosis, as much as a realization that what he did was wrong. His reaction is not remorse because- after all, God did not intervene. This sort of behavior is appropriately immature.
Sadly, because his parents did not do their job, this boy suffered severely from mental illness. They did not get him the medical help he needed, and this is what happened, as we’re paying for them sitting in jail, they belong in jail. He belongs in a hospital. Depression is a disease just like heart disease just like diabetes it has to be treated. From genetically from head trauma from an emotional trauma Either way the parents are responsible for their children until they’re 18. They didn’t give one iota for this kid. Sad.
