I'm only zone 6, but at least I get a 5 bed, 4 bathroom detached house for that, with garden and 4 car driveway. But what about if you want to get to zone 1? It's a 15 minute air-conditioned train ride, so worth remembering that you can live further down the tube or train lines. I honestly don't see any point in moving closer to the centre.
