A short video demonstrating the Milltek Active Exhaust sound generator fitted to a Renault ZOE ZE50 2020 model. This is a sound generating device that can be turned on or off as you please, It is to replicate the sound of an ICE vehicle to give you the ability to drive your EV and it sound like a V8 & many other sounds.

We are awaiting for Milltek to get the development finished and then its down to local installers so not sure yet.

The miltek exhaust sound generator is £1700 - not including fitting. Not saying that this is that exact model but it gives you an idea of the price.

Oof! Way too much for a bit of a giggle. £170, fitted, would be more realistic. I'll bet that the Chinese come up with something similar for way less than £100.

Why? Some of us buy EV's to get away from the racket of dinosaurs screaming for mercy. Silence is golden, and a much better driving experience. This idea is for poseurs. But if that floats your boat, so be it. Thanks for the demo, Craig. 🙂👍 What I want to know is how to turn off the fake hum which is emitted by a ZE50. That sound is too loud, and carries for hundreds of metres at night, attracting unwanted attention. The Renault manual says it can be done, but pressing the button, as instructed, does nothing, other than change it to a louder, more annoying, sound.
