Thanks! No drone at all, which is one of the things I love about it. That said, if you have the back seats down for whatever reason, that may stay true - a lot of that reverberation seems to get trapped in the trunk, as I found out once.
Hi, I’m from the Uk and I have a 2018 Giulia Veloce 280, I’m thinking of getting this cat back in the same configuration as yours, is your car standard or does it have an ECU tune?
Did any or most of them actually own one? Most alfas are unworthy of that reputation and you'd find many more owners will echo this! Enjoy the audi tho, those are great too
compliments by an italian Friends...the beauty of this car is contagious ... I liked it a lot but in special setups, base sucks. having said that, I kept the 280 hp Q4 2.0 with AT8 for two years (unfortunately not manual) but I must say very funny at levels that I never imagined with a wonderful line. A nice 5.4 sec worth noting. What a nice engine .. Top speed over 250 km / h. (156 mph)
@@vbpipesmoker5670 The Q4 all-wheel drive is a technology that ensures traction on four-wheel drive with a different distribution of torque between the two axles. so obviously it is different from the "BASE" as you call it ... so... do you have literally other questions LOOOOOL ?

@@vbpipesmoker5670 the only one here who is stupid is you .. you said that there are "literally no mechanical differences" between the basic model and the one extensively explained by me ... now if you are not able to understand how different this engineering is with this type of 4x4 and the delivery of this engine does not become my problem. having said that given your rudeness I leave you some data that you can look at calmly .. 2.0 T 280 CV Extreme AT8 Q4 reaches 245 km / h, 0-100 covered in 5 sec, not to mention the interiors and lines ... a Super 2.2 160 hp TD (often for business use) 0-100 8.1sec 220 the speed, yes but reached slowly .. excellent car of course, in the diesel field for consumption and performance but for me unpleasant in the stylistic details and not an engine at the height of the price ... SOOOOOO it sucks me, now go play expert my sweet friend from overseas, if you want chenge your attitude you can find me here...
On a cold start, they're about the same. After they are properly warmed up and driving, the 4C remains significantly louder both inside and out. Worth noting that the 4C has the factory sport-tuned/race exhaust option, which basically means it doesn't have a muffler. Because race car.
@@divelitewannabe361 Correct on the model of the Giulia. As for if it can be as loud as a 4C, I think you can get there if you remove the catalytic converters and any muffler you have. It won't sound as nice, but I think you'll get to the decibel level. The main thing is probably that the exhaust exit is much farther away from the motor on the Giulia than on the 4C (front engine vs mid engine)
I wish I had gotten footage of the install. It's a really simple affair, though I remember the rear mounts were a bit of a pain. It all comes together very nicely, and you can adjust each section as necessary to sure your clearances are right - something very helpful as the 3" piping can get tight in certain areas.
Thanks! And not really - it was mainly a cost/benefit situation. Having lived with the non-valved for a while, I can see the benefit of having a valved version - particularly during cold starts, when it can be quite loud - but it's not to where I would have chosen differently if given another opportunity.
I used to be, but I'm out in the Norman/OKC side of the state these days. The Giulia is truly a phenomenal car, even with the non-Quadrifoglio, 2.0L engine. If you haven't driven one, I HIGHLY recommend it - I don't think you'll find another car in its class that feels quite like it. My only gripe is that we don't have any dealer in Oklahoma in the event that I needed warranty work done, so I would have to travel to Ft. Worth for it. Thankfully, it's super reliable and I haven't needed to, but still.
@@thenislie Yeah, I let my brother drive my Giulia and even warned him beforehand that he would be smitten - 6 months later he sold his car and bought his own Giulia in Misano Blue (an outstanding color, btw).
Haha, I understand that - I honestly don't know, though, since I have the non-valved version of the exhaust. So my neighbors get to hear my Giulia sing the song of her people at full volume :)
For me it came down to a couple of factors. First, the videos I had seen and the word I had heard from other buyers had this one sounding like an aggressive, yet still refined note that wasn't obnoxious and didn't drone on the highway. Second, some of the members on the Alfa Romeo Owners Facebook group got together and organized a group buy which lowered the price by hundreds of dollars, so I ended up getting an awesome deal on it. All in all, I am incredibly satisfied with it and would definitely do it again. It is a really high quality exhaust and easily one of the best - if not the best - option available. The only negative is the cold start can be surprisingly loud, and neighbors may not appreciate that sort of thing. So if that's a concern, it may be worth getting the valved version.
The Giulia? It's about the same as its competitors in the sport-luxury-sedan segment, and it's been exceptionally reliable with zero issues after two years of ownership. The only issue is the dealer network; I live in Oklahoma, where we don't have a single Alfa Romeo dealer in the state, so I have to travel out of state if I want service within that network.
I love the 4C, and I love my Giulia, but the Giulia is my daily. As much as I appreciate the QV, it's too expensive to justify owning one when I already have a 4C. I would rather invest my joyride-machine money in something truly unique and evocative like the 4C Spider. The standard Giulia still offers the same handling dynamics found in the QV, as well as its 4-door practicality, so I think I've struck a healthy balance by getting these two and leaving the QV for those who don't want to split their business and pleasure so much.
