This is a real millwrights tool box, got tired of seeing guys with ridiculously expensive tool boxes and everything snap on, tool doesn’t make the mechanic. Bravo mate
LOL watching these millwright videos i kinda chuckle . All the guys showing off their tool boxes and organized cabinets . millwrighting in Ontario working mill shut-downs we have to carry on our shoulders or roll in all the tools we " think " we may need . Different jobs and different environments !
Cool video. I'm a millwright in a foundry so it's pretty similar to the mining industry. Sounds like this job has a pretty bad work culture with tools and personal belongings getting stolen. At my job it happens every once in a while but normally it's consumable items provided by work and not personal items. Stuff like grinding wheels, strikers, gloves, welding hood parts, and grease guns are stolen but personal items are left alone.
Love your vids man. Got my Red Seal for Millwright and now working on Electrician apprenticeship... It was embarrassing how disorganized my toolbox was during the first few years in the trade and how inefficient I was. Took lots of tips from this video that has really helped me improve my productivity over the last couple years. Keep lots of doubles now incase someone steals something or I break a tool. Having double sets of drill bits and tap sets for instance if you break a bit was a game changer. Lots of sound advice here. Hope you post more!
you have to do the full process again but if your working at a company as a millwright going for electrician you will get journeyman wages while your doing it.
I am gonna heed your advice on painting commonly used wrenches, breaker bars, and other tools in the field. I think I will go with neon pink ; ) Just getting started...not formally a millwright apprentice YET, but I am starting to get my basic tool set together. Thx for the advice and no BS video.
