I have been reading Australian 4x4 Action magazine for some years now. Thease Australian offroaders know there stuff. Rooty is a funny guy and Allen is one great mechanic!
Need to change the oil on my transfer case and diffs. It's on the list Roothey, I know your right. I did the ATF fluid in my auto box when I bought my 70, The best 20 quid I could have spent. I thought the auto was on it's way out, now it changes smooth as you want. I highly recommend it whatever vehicle you own if it's Auto. The Toyota box has a drain plug which is tipical Toyota logic and make it so easy. You will need a thin funnel, a flexible one makes it easier.
this is helping me heaps I lost my high range on my 80 series so after wathcing this i went and removed the transfer case pulled it apart and low and behold there is nothing wrong with the transfer case the problem is a stiff and hard to move hi-lo gear lever so i will change the bearings now and get hold of a looser moving gear lever the speedo has just under 400,000 on the clock so i will replace the bearings and seals not that they leak of have to much bearing noise
Great video But my question. I have a 2011 Toyota RAV4 sport V6 my bearings went bad in my front transfer case and I have to replace it. and I can't find any videos on how to remove it. I'm trying to do it myself, Can I replace the front transfer case without taking out the engine and transmission?
