Solo Sailing the Cyclades
Life lessons learned…
MILOS
Better late than never !
@Sailing Adventures with Grandad
Solo sailing the Cyclades, I pushedn my limits. I did not realizen at the time the lessons I would learn from this expereince.Its been a great challenge sailing to 12 Islands. A voyage of learning about my self, more each day about Vayu my sailboat, and in this chapter I share what I learned about life.
I share the with your the three principal lessons I learned as we sail from Polyaigos to Milos, where I meet my cousing Cristina and then on to Porto Heli with both cousin Cristina and Cian a new friend who joined as crew from Milos to Porto Heli.
The three lessons can be summarized as:
The value of pushing your limits in life to learn and grow.
The importance of sharing to enrichen the experiences of life.
And the value of solitude to let our souls be touched by god.
How enriching to just push beyond our comfort zone. And never too late.
The challenge of sailing solo in the beautiful Aegean, island to island, is nothing short of magnificent. These are the lessons I decided were the most valuable to me, but if you want my advice ? Whatever your idea of pushing beyond…just do it!
This adventure of Sailing Adventures with Grandad, started after our long Covid battle. I departed Palma de Mallorca going East around Sicily, across the Ionian, transiting the Corinth Canal and have been in the Aegean for this whole season of 2023.
SAILING ADVENTURES WITH GRANDAD are my amateur creations of my travels and experiences on Vayu my 44 ft X-yacht Vayu. The people I travel with, the places we go, the times we have and my reflections on living this challenge Ive created for my life.
Sharing with you is challenging my very limited abilities as a narrator, editor and photographer but for now I have every intention of trying to improve.
A lifetime sailor, practicing yogi, father of 4, grandad of 5 (soon 6), amateur chef, and thankful man. I live between Palma de Mallorca, Vayu my sailboat and Los Cabos Mexico. I share my life now with my beautiful partner Isabel who joins me sailing when she can and when the weather is guaranteed to be nice.
This channel was launched at the beginning of the Ukrainian invasion. This war and now the Palestinian catastrophe just goes to show how where you were born, can determine so much. And now the tragedy of Palestine another reminder of the how precious peace and life is.
Thanks for coming along. Sailing like life… its all in the journey!
Thank you;
Michael
