Like deja vu all over again! I was a flight-line 310 sparky for Cessna in the seventies and spent a lot of time taxying these airplanes and flying in the right seat on test flights. Looks and sounds perfect. I almost cried when you startled up the engines. Just like I remembered from 45 years ago. Needless to say I will be one of your first customers!
Little late to the party, I just recently bought this beauty. This is pure immersion! Flight model, sounds, textures (damn, if you don't clean your plane... hehe). And yay for beiing able to see my co-pilot (and passengers) inside the plane! All of this must have been a ton of work, and it is an amazing product. Keep it up milviz!
The Cessna 310 is my favorite all time machine. It is classically beautiful and Sky King was a big part of my childhood. As of today, I finally “ own” one!! You have done a magnificent job with this plane…even the sweet singing sound of those engines is over the top perfect. Best $40 I ever spent. Thank you. Well done!!
I am impressed at how much detail has been put in this plane. Wear & tear, failures, and state saving? Count me in! It's also a huge bonus that it will come with TDS GTNXi support from day 1. Great job Milviz!
That's great news about this 310 coming with the TDS GTNXi support! I recently got that and already was going to buy this plane as I've waited a long time for it! With the cool features such as passenger comfort scale to take into account is an awesome piece to add to immersion and give sim pilots something else to consider while flying! I can't wait for this plane!!!
This is the second aircraft I've purchased from your company and I really enjoy flying both. I just got this one and in VR it's easy to feel like you're in the real deal. Very fun plane and the attention to detail is amazing. Great job guys.
This is my first Milviz purchase and I want my money back! Not from Milviz, but from the producer of that other twin that I purchased several months ago, lol. Wow! ...the 310 is incredible in every aspect, I'm really impressed. Flew her around a bit in VR and then found this video. Thanks for such an excellent tutorial and work of art. Other than a "low oil pressure" indication on the G1000 (false indication), and precautionary landing. I've been fortunate to never have had a real world emergency. So having a random failure system is something I've wanted for a long time (over three decades of flight simming), as a training aid. Looking forward to what you guys come out with next. :-)
I worked at an FBO for three years in my younger days. It was a Cessna dealer also, and on Monday nights after my shift I often accompanied a pilot who flew bank checks to the Federal Reserve in Louisville. It was always in a 310. Love this plane. When this comes out, I will have all the aircraft in my hangar that I need, thank you .... the Bell 47, Mooney Ovation, the Skymaster and the 310. "Sky King" lives.
Kudos on this aircraft. Steam gauge heaven. I didn't get the opportunity to fly a C310 but IRL I did get several hundred hours flying IO-520 powered aircraft (Barons and Bonanzas). I must say you pretty much nailed the engine sounds. And all the realism features are going make this a real hoot to fly. Anxiously awaiting to add the C310 to my virtual hangar.
Very excited for this one, thank you Milviz, the 310 has been one of my favorite planes period in the sim for years and you guys took it to another level!
I had your 310 in a previous sim and look forward to flying this again in MSFS when released. Also look forward to hearing the lovely twin “purr” again.
Looks real nice! Clearly my next favorite aircraft. Having failures and owned mode brings a whole lot of immersion and interest. Can't wait for it to be finished
Thank you for your very interesting and above all instructive video. I have been writing a lot and will watch your video several times so that I can also fly this aircraft like a professional after a lot of practice. Thanks again and greetings from Jack from the Netherlands.
Great plane and tutorial. It’s nice to see a developer participating with the community and sharing the most intimate knowledge of the models. It would have been nice to hear a little about how the algorithms work, etc or at least something to give us an idea about how realistic the simulation is, what is 100% real, what is “synthesized” to behave real but may have some compromises, and why, etc. All in all, thank you.
Great demo flight with very informative explanation of the very detailed systems. First plane with that great level of possible failures. Hope the engines smokes and with matching sound sets when things go wrong. Must have GA plane. Great work.
Awesome video! Thanks a lot for the professional tutorial. Feels like a real flight 👍 The realism in this plane is outstanding! Can't wait to get my copy and looking forward to your next projects! Keep it up 👌
Watched the Ocverkill Simulations intro to the 310 video and then watch this one. WOW what a plane. I am only a desk pilot but can't wait to get it. Already looking forward to the G1000 upgrade. This (I think) is one of the best planes if you want to understand how a plane works and what to do if you have a failure! !! !!! Waiting for the download
Love your work, like everyone else! Three things, 1. Can we make the copilot optional instead of default. 2. There is a whistling sound in the cockpit, as though the pilots window is open. 3. On final, it seems that the throttle doesn’t want to retard. Thanks, Greg
Very interesting and helpful video. Really good supplement to the manual particularly for someone like me who learns best from observing things in action. Definitely feeling more confident about switching up the realism settings on my first study level twin engine aircraft.
Subscribed and have had the 310 for awhile and Enjoy it very much and seen another video from a Milwiz developer flying in NZ and Hopefully Su10 will be kind to the 310
Excellent tutorial. If I might add..The aux tanks return fuel to the main tank so if you take off with full mains you should wait 90 mins before switching to the aux's or you risk overflowing mains and pissing fuel overboard. In your flight you didn't take off with full mains so its not a matter of time but volume. In practice instead of using time don't switch to aux's until mains burn down to 30 gals. Not sure why the dev's used half main and aux's as the default fuel load? Normally mains are always full before filling aux's.
I can't switch navigational radios. Its in the GTN 750 mode, which is fine as I have a premium version, but I want to try it without it and it won't let me switch.
Watched the WHOLE thing! This is definitely a work of art and I will surely be purchasing it on day 1 of release. You did a great job with the 310. I sure wish you would also do a Piper Navajo or Chieftan. If Carenado ever gets around to releasing those, they would never be anywhere close to the kind of performance Milviz could render. BTW - I kept waiting for the engines to stop on short final due to the mixtures still being lean. Did you forget about "GUMP". 😃
My favorite purchase this year! Even compared to the DC-6, 247D or BAE 146 (which are all great sims). BTW, you confused Oak Island for Bald Head Island at 59:30. Oak island is man made (by virtue of the ICW cutting through it). It's Bald Head that is secluded with no cars.
Nearly a birdstrike at 18:15 . Is the model good enough to bring on an engine failure or a cracked windshield if the bird had been in an appropriate position? I bought the aircraft yesterday and the half dozen circuits I've done so far, have been a delight!
Just Flight have already done this with their Pipers. Of course the Pipers are not as complicated to fly, but the systems are just as detailed according to the airframe, and the textures are better than this by quite a way if you ask me.
Nice video. Sold. After purchasing it for my Xbox series x came the frustration. The GTN750 won’t turn on. Only the G530/430 works on Xbox. Hopefully it will work in a future update.
Hi, want to thank you for this video. I recently purchased the 310 from MSFS marketplace so this video helped me understand the available of 310 options. Wanted to know you talked about a manual, is that part of the tablet or something else and are there any updates available for the 310. Again thanks for the video.
12:40 Shouldn't the timer start when the ship power is turned on, instead of when the aircraft is loaded c&d? Looking forward to this release. It appears to be a huge leap from the P3D model, so I don't mind buying it *again.* :D
It looks great. 11:10 when you push the propeller levers forward it doesn’t unfeather the propellers like that in the real plane. When you shut down you just pull the mixtures. It seems like a fantastic model otherwise.
In the upper left corner we can see that as the props are pushed forward the blades go from feathered to full fine. What else should they do? We'll be glad to add any further realism in area that we need to. As to the mixtures, that was just a quick way for me to shut down, the official procedures in the checklists are more involved.
@@dutchowen525 You are both right. The thing is that the props should not go to full feather when you shut down the engine. The props are locked by pins called 'start locks' when you shut down, locking them at 20° pitch more or less. That's done so they have less air drag when starting. This is why, in the air, you need to pull the props back fairly quickly (fairly, because you don't want to grab the wrong lever!) before the lock pins engage and you are unable to feather the engine. In this case, you need to dive and gain airspeed for the pins to disengage at a certain RPM so the prop can go to it's feathered position. Please correct me if I am wrong anyone. Also, as for the precise thresholds I have no idea. Should be in the prop manual.
Wow! I need that one! Hope you can adjust the sounds of the buttons and switches though, it seems quite odd that you would hear them at all when your headphones make your engines barely hearable 🙂
Nice video! I would just give some attention to throttle and prop settings if to simulate. Flying full power for more than 1 minute and full prop (RPM) the whole flight can destroy your engines.
Hi how to use all fuel? Im kinda lost. There is only 4 selection both right and left main tank then right auxiliary tank then off. I cannot use external 1 fuel? I finish off the both left and right main then i switch to right auxiliary only external 2 is being consume?
Absolutely love it! ...the passenger with his hands floating above his lap is a little strange looking though; we'll just pretend he died and rigor mortis has set in.
I just checked it, and saw no increase, so if it was a bug it looks fixed now. This is 2 beta versions beyond the one in the video. We're making rapid progress.
So I flew the 310r yesterday evening since SU10 was released. I had live weather enabled and if you don't know the turblance/gust was modeled in SU10. At 5,000 ft in the Punta Gorda, FL area I was hand flying the aircraft and I couldn't keep the wings level. Prop RPM at 2300, manifold around 20 to 25. It was like rocking in a Jon boat in a hurricane. Is this a known issue with the flight model since SU10? Has anyone else tried this yet?
I just noticed that propeller blades don't change the angle when I move the prop levers on the ground with engines off, unlike in this video. They are still in max RPM position. Is this potentionally a bug or am I missing something?
I purchased the C310R and installed it as per the instructions. Everything seems to be working fine, except for the avionics. The “Radio Navigation” and “Asobo GNS530” appear to work fine. However, the “PM550 GTN750” and “TDS GTN750Xi” will not turn on. Both of the screens are black. Anybody else having this problem? Anybody have a good way of contacting their support?
Hello Dutch. I have been flying the MilViz Turbo 310R using XPlane 11, so will this also be compatible with XPlane? I'm glad to see the extra functionality with switches, circuit breakers and panel options--is it possible to upgrade my existing software with these additional features or will this be a stand alone version? Thanks.
