You could put the ratchet ontop then the wrench on the other side like T handle great function, id consider them forsure!

Ever since I have gotten my Milwaukee 12v ratchet. I rarely ever touch my regular ratchets. Great review though.

Milwaukee's really been knocking it out of the park with products and innovation. I have their wrenches and plan on getting their ratchets/socket sets too. A lot of things are made in Taiwan now, including companies like Tekton and Gearwrench. As far as quality I've never had any issues with the tools I have that were made in Taiwan, and I beat the hell out of them. Taiwan quality is getting to where it's on par with Japan and shouldn't be associated at all with China.

Taiwan learned a lot from Japan. Even China, I know the image of Made in China is not good, but I’ve seen during early 2000’s that there are a lot of Chinese and Taiwanese visitors at Japanese factories probably doing research. Just like Japanese engineers studying at German manufacturers during the second world war.

Tool Review Zone I totally agree, the wrenches, sockets, and ratchets are top notch, these people that are knocking them obviously haven’t used any of their new stuff they have released. They are quality tools that compare with tool truck brands.

I’d really like for Milwaukee to release the sockets themselves. Maybe in a shockwave style case? And I’d really like to see them come out with 1/2 drive sockets. Including just the sockets kit.
@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 5 лет назад
Did you lose your 10mm? 😆 Oh, you're saying without the ratchet, not just individual sockets! Yes, that would be great if they did so.
@efx-mj8me
@efx-mj8me 5 лет назад
I just got a cheap 30 dollar set off Amazon with both metric and standard in the same kit. Also made in Taiwan and I don't have double of the same thing. Yours are nice but why not just put them together. Obviously they want to make more money but that just takes more space and you end up with two of the same thing. Not to mention I really like how my set is organized. Sae on the top cover and all metric on the bottom which works beautifully. Not trying to knock Milwaukee since I have some of their m12 tools but I think they are behind on their hand tools. Not to mention expensive when you have so many choices now.
@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 5 лет назад
This set is pretty pricey. They do sell a combined metric and SAE set as well, which knocks the price down since it only has one ratchet.

Nice review but I only watched the review to see how the deep sockets are. Is the deep socket basically the size of the nut the length of the socket or is there a ridge that the nut or bolt can only go as deep as the nut or bolt head.
@_P0tat07_
@_P0tat07_ 6 лет назад
Awesome, thorough review. Personally I think the sockets are slightly ugly with the square ends. I think a hex shape might look better, but it would also make them more expensive. Looks like a good set. Are the U-joints smooth or are they stiff or even loose?
@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 6 лет назад
The U joints are pretty fluid and easy to work with, they're closer to too loose than too stiff.

Matco should have done that with their ratchets instead of the snap ring in the thin plate retainer.

It looks like a nice set but I think they're too expensive. I know I'm probably gonna catch heck for this, but you can get a 64 piece Pittsburgh SAE & Metric 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 shallow and deep well socket set with case for $32 after 20% coupon. Those carry a lifetime guarantee and are very highly rated. I've been using socket wrenches for more than 50 years and have never broken a wrench or a socket - but then I don't abuse my tools by putting a big cheater pipe on the handle. I have good quality sets, and I have the el cheapo sets and have never had one fail me. If the fastener won't budge, use the correct tool rather than abuse the one that is conveniently in your hand. One other thing to consider is to buy impact sockets rather than the chrome ones. They will probably work for more than 95% of what you would use them on and you won't have to double your storage space, and money, on duplicating your sockets if you use impact tools.
@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 6 лет назад
Hey man, whatever works! I've heard good things about Pittsburgh for the price. For anything bigger I'd definitely consider impact rated like you mention, but figure for fasteners suited for 1/4" drive sockets, I probably won't need to get out the impact wrench, and they won't have the extra bulk most impact sockets do.
@Toyotas_n__Tools

You say abuse tools by putting a cheater bar, that sounds like your using them to me and just happen to have one tough SOB to deal with lol.
@bstceltics4
@bstceltics4 6 лет назад
Im a firm believer in the tool doesnt make the mechanic the mechanic makes the tool but from experience all though Pittsburgh has a life time warranty they do not hold up to the abuse of a full time mechanic in the past 10 years ive destroyed a ton of harbor freight tools

@DoresoomReviews

Because they left off the 15/16" and 1" deep well sockets? Not sure why they made that decision.

They come in 3/8" sets too, but they don't have 1/2" yet. 3/8" 32 Pc Metric: 48-22-9508 3/8" 28 Pc SAE: 48-22-9408 3/8" 56 Pc SAE & Metric: 48-22-9008 Just note that for some reason Milwaukee left out the 15/16" and 1" deep well sockets from the SAE sets.

Power tools theyll dominate everyone in the game but I wouldn't hold my breath on hand tools theyre good quality but snap on has been the OG in hand tools doesn't mean they're not over priced tho.
@brumph7256
@brumph7256 6 лет назад
TxJonathan the only tools in my toolbox that rust up is snap on. Lol They are definitely the “bigs” in the industry but they are shit like everyone else. Wrenches are the best truck brand but a wrightgrip wrench is way better. These Milwaukee sockets might be made by Stanley which makes Mac tools and proto. Not sure about that. No research done. Just a guess looking at the ratchet.
@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 6 лет назад
They're definitely not made by Stanley - that's DeWalt's parent company, one of Milwaukee's biggest competitors. Milwaukee has a few design patents on the square ended sockets, but I'm not sure if they're contracting out the manufacturing aspect or not.
@brumph7256
@brumph7256 6 лет назад
Doresoom Reviews maybe apex then?? So many tools look alike these days it’s hard to tell. Plus, I’m not sure how the patent thing all works but if it’s made out the country not sure if they abide by our rules or not. I will say the Milwaukee wrenches are 100% identical to Carlyle wrenches from Napa.
@sethc758
@sethc758 5 лет назад
I just dont understand why they made all of their sockets 2 flats less functional than every spark plug socket on the market. Thats all.
@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 5 лет назад
It's more roll resistant than one with hex flats, and it might be a little stronger around the square drive of the ratchet, since a hex end would cut the corners - those are the only reasons I can think of.

I'm not sure who/if Milwaukee contracted out to manufacture in Taiwan, but the sockets and ratchet are Milwaukee's unique design. They hold a few patents on them: patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/3e/36/2b/479ae89824878e/USD814259.pdf. patentimages.storage.googleapis.com/f5/05/af/b02675108f3481/US9956670.pdf

Milwaukee need to lower their prices or come with something really special to compete in the socket and wrenches market.

@DoresoomReviews
@DoresoomReviews 4 года назад
The DeWalt 1/4" drive socket set does look to be significantly cheaper, but the ones I found included a 72 tooth ratchet, while this one is 90 tooth. Also looks like deep well sockets are an entirely separate set for how DeWalt sells them.

@@DoresoomReviews I have a matco 1/4 sae deep and shallow set it's in a metal case I paid $2 for it and I've seen DeWalt that have deep and shallow sockets it's hard to find a socket set w/o those stupid bits or Allen keys I like the setup of the Milwaukee sets just too much money if I'm paying that much I'm going for snap on

@DoresoomReviews 6 лет назад
The square ends? I can recall one specific time when using a wrench with them would have helped me with access, otherwise I haven't needed them. But hey, they aren't in the way and help the sockets not to roll, so I figure why not.
